Life is better when you block assholes

Your right to say it doesn’t mean you’re right to say it.

I’m tired of people in my immediate circle believing the Earth is flat, and for some reason, believing it is their responsibility to “educate” others. I have spent my whole life trying to have more than one friend in the whole wide world, so cutting these people out of my life is a tough solution.

More gravel pit shenanigans

Playing around in the gravel pit at All-4-Fun, in Leadville

I am having fun at the 59th annual All-4-Fun in Leadville Colorado, put on by the Mile High Jeep Club.

A rainbow is God’s promise never to subject us to Trump again. Too bad God isn’t real.

It bothers me a lot that gerrymandering continues to be a problem in the USA. Like universal healthcare, nearly every other developed nation has solved this problem, or never even had the problem to begin with. For some reason Americans are proud to live in the most corrupt country on earth.

“Everything is a conspiracy theory if you don’t know how anything works,” says @garrisonhayes.bsky.social in his video on the conspiracy theories swirling in the aftermath of the deadly Texas floods. The irony? There’s no need for a conspiracy theory when the truth is simple: Texas floods often.

Today I feel very disheartened to know that all my neighbors and a good chunk of my friends are Trump and Bobo voters. They are genuinely otherwise very good people. I don’t know how good people can get behind this much cruelty and hatred.

A good friend gave us a brand new 25 year old ATV. With the help of another good friend, I got it running reasonably well. Just gotta work through the remaining gremlins and it will be a very handy addition to out little ranch on the prairie.

My friend just got told his “don’t die of kidney failure” meds will cost $3000/month, after insurance. How do people exist in our medical system!? 🤬

ICYMI: The 16 states w/ total or 6-week abortion bans have sustained >$64 billion in economic losses annually since the Dobbs decision 3 years ago today. Coupled w/ other abortion restrictions, the national cost balloons to to $133 billion, a new analysis estimates. Exclusive for @motherjones.com:

This is my favorite episode and favorite funeral.

Our veggie garden is coming along nicely this year. A bunch of potatoes have sprouted, the store bought lettuce is ready to eat, the garlics are huge, and the tomatoes are coming along. #gardening

Here’s a video of my subsoiler pipe layer in action, running a sprinkler line out to the front driveway.

I made a pipe laying attachment for my subsoiler, so now I can run irrigation lines out to my orchard and front yard landscaping.

We’ve finally finished the first stage of our pond. Next will be landscaping the paths around the pond and other areas, and putting in irrigation for the trees and flower beds. #landscaping #backyard

Our seedlings are getting huge, and we need the dining table for guests this weekend, so we planted out the tomatoes in the greenhouse. I hope they survive the few upcoming nearly freezing days. #Garden #VegetableGarden #ColoradoGarden #zone5b

Most days

Nothing like that feeling *that*pressed up against against your back while dancing.

Investigations at Sequoia National Park into the giant acorn that fell on the head of a Park Ranger were made all the more challenging by the fact that giant sequoias produce cones, not acorns. This was certainly a treemendous mystery!

Now Spinning David Byrne’s American Utopia Perhaps an unobtainable dream given current events. But sometimes one needs to have a little hope. #VinylRecord

My wee baby garlics are coming up nicely!

We’ve named our property, and I’ve made a sign.

My baby corns are growing mightily! 2 of our tomatoes are going strong, with the Early Girls lagging behind. And, I have actual garlic growing in the greenhouse! #gardening #garden #zone5b

My firepit structure at night, finally with all the lights.

My firepit area socializing enclosure is finally nearly completed! Just a few more boards, then some gravel, then some more chairs and stools to go. All my life I have wanted a back yard I could comfortably sit out and enjoy, now I finally have the start of one. #landscapearchitecture #backyard
