On the + side, these people are self-selecting out of the gene pool / removing their children from it. That means less competition in the marketplace for jobs. It's still a tragedy. These kids have no choice. Maybe if parents were caretakers and providers instead of owners, things might be different
Saw this dumbass book at a surplus store, which at least probably means that nobody bought them at normal stores. Enjoy your measles kid.

This falls into the #NotSurprised category.
A Baptist chaplain at a privately-run ICE lockup in Pennsylvania is facing accusations of sexually abusing a detainee over the course of more than a year, beginning shortly after he gained her trust by gifting her a Bible. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

I'm surprised they don't use them as zoning locations for the poor.
More than 20 years ago, N.C. legislators passed a law requiring that landslide hazards be mapped across 19 mountain counties. But after only four of those counties were mapped, lawmakers gave in to developers who said it could harm property values. (Published May 2025)

As someone who supports independent creators on Kickstarter, many are struggling with skyrocketing costs, and some have lost more than they earned, but are still honoring their obligations.
Donald Trump turned a booming economy into a stagnant one in record time. His war on affordability and small businesses are having real impacts — from his chaotic tariffs to his job and economy-killing immigration raids. California will continue to fight back.
Just a reminder that christian conservatives called Reverend Fred Rogers, aka Mr. Rogers, evil. Apparnetly, you aren't special and don't deserve kindness of dignity. Those are earned through capitalism. www.snopes.com/fact-check/f...
Is there anything like this in the US?
In a small town in County Cork, Ireland, a monument stands in appreciation to the American Choctaw Indian Tribe. Although impoverished, shortly after being forced to walk the Trail of Tears, the tribe somehow gathered $170 to send to Ireland for famine relief in 1847 [Historic Vids]
One would hope that MAGAts learn from this, but it is always the wrong lesson. Fear necessecitates manufacturing imaginary problems, finding it everywhere, blaming the uninvolved, and applying the wrong solutions. Below poverty wages and rising prices are the new norm, and blaming immigrants.
Another thing YOU can thank Trump and Republicans for Our economy is going into a recession fortune.com/2025/08/25/r...
That used to be nationalism. It was different from patriotism. Now they've soiled patriotism. I no longer use that word.
The flags aren’t the problem. It’s the people waving these flags and what they are trying to make these flags represent; with these people it’s not about pride; it’s about hate, the exclusion of people not like them, and a sense that they’re better. That’s the problem.

Love this from Humanists UK! #Thatshumanism is the perfect introduction to the humanist approach to life, featuring four animations narrated by Stephen Fry, and brand new posters all about humanism for schools. Have a look for yourself! humanists.uk/thatshumanism/
They should ban Catcher in the Rye, if they haven't already. That book was absolute shit. A mediocre underachiever who does less than nothing is disillusioned with a fake world. Anne Frank's Diary makes people recoil from war. Catcher inspire young men to recoil from society and write manifestos.
The Diary of Anne Frank is among the hundreds of books banned in Florida this year. When I was in school, it was required reading. (Guardian)
The Diary of Anne Frank is part of their playbook. You don't want your plans falling into the hands of your enemies, nor inspire young people to have compassion and like human rights.

Gov'ts can either support their people or suppress them. It's run by the wealthy who see short term gain as more important than the long game, so suppression it is If a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, why is society measured by it's wealthiest people?
When Ted Turner asked Carl Sagan if he was a socialist, Sagan gave the answer America keeps failing to learn.
Having grown up with Focus on the Family, I can say that the world is better off without some people. This is what evil masquerading as good looks like. Don't worry, another white false prophet will rise to take his place to plumb the depths of depravity in the name of god.
James Dobson’s legacy isn’t “family values” — it’s intolerance. He blamed mass shootings on LGBTQ rights & abortion, derided diversity as a “hidden agenda,” and reduced marriage to a sexist bargain. FFRF will keep fighting the Christian nationalism he championed. apnews.com/article/jame...
The NHS has problems, but we didn't go brankrupt after a cancer diagnosis. 66% of all US bankruptcies are from runaway medical costs. Too many people have to choose between death and bankruptcy. The US has the highest medical costs for mediocre results. #MedicalDarwinism
America: Universal healthcare creates wait times for healthcare. Also America: waits six months for a neurosurgeon consult and a year to get into a dermatologist…
Growing up w/ christianity, the only people less empathetic than christians is psychopaths. Who else can tear a person to shreds and follow up with "Jesus loves you" or "God bless you"? Remember, sin is "anything I don't like." Just as calling your family when you're held hostage is a "felony."
"For them, empathy is a cudgel for the left: It can manipulate caring people into accepting all manner of sins according to a conservative Christian perspective, including abortion access, LGBTQ+ rights, illegal immigration and certain views on social and racial justice." apnews.com/article/cons...
Antisemitism is a problem. Weaponizing it for political gain dilutes the value of it. When legitimate complaints against Israel are automatically deemed antisemitism, the word has no value. Ironically, Holocaust deniers, conspiracy nutjobs and Jew haters overlap a lot and are primarily conservative.
What… The Bibi-C, surely not?
