For the Echo Night thumbnail, I wanted to try and recreate the ghostly look of Crea, although I didn't have much variety in print material for this one, so it was a pretty simple design

Forgot that I also used text from this Fromsoftware promo poster for "The Third Lighthouse" which was an ambiguous announcement for a new game after King's Field, Armored Core, & Shadow Tower. It was either hinting towards Echo Night or just the direction of the company moving forward

Initially I used text from this Fromsoftware 1998 calendar, the text is still there in the final thumbnail but is barely visible, I thought it was too cluttered and didn't fit in

For the Echo Night thumbnail, I wanted to try and recreate the ghostly look of Crea, although I didn't have much variety in print material for this one, so it was a pretty simple design

There are only a few widespread Crea renders, pretty much everything either uses the side profile or the glancing side profile. More renders exist but were sparsely used from what I could gather

So it really was as simple as using the boat background (+ logo), the one clean Crea render from the game, and the blue stone render also from the game. Making it one of the least complex or chaotic thumbnails for one of these videos but fitting for a subtle game like Echo Night.

oh yes, i will also share the art i did for cryveil's evergrace video :) shadow tower is fun isn't it. i felt like i was storyboarding again, it was very nostalgic... 🍁 i didn't think i'd end up animating parts either, but i just felt like "these scenes are so important, i have to!!"

Preview of my most insanely edited segment of all time My goal for this one was to visually match the intensity of Evergrace's shop theme, but still let the viewer make sense of the chaos

Going to post my scrapped & WIP Evergrace thumbnails here too, I'll make a thread of most of the images used throughout the process too

I tried a lot of different ways to fill in the empty space near the top/bottom, used text from various Japanese scans covering Evergrace (it's not just random text); painted in the corners & Darius' face to add more contrast and help him stand out more

And this is the final result. This is probably the most time I spent on single thumbnail (usually they take me <2-3 hours, but this one took me days). There's a lot of layering/blending involved, but hopefully you can see all of the individual elements and where they came from

I tried a lot of things for Sharline, but most of them didn't fit either (AgeTec promo material & in-game story slides)

Eventually I started over, keeping Darius roughly the same. The Krissalis overlapping with Sharline is still from the original Darius piece, just cropped and brought down to fit the aspect ratio. For Sharline I ended with the Novelization cover art, the Crest is ripped directly from the EG Logo

I wanted to use this art of Darius from the beginning, this is my favorite promo art for Evergrace and does well to represent the color scheme of the game On the right is the same art from a Playstation magazine with higher saturation, and I wanted to recreate this look.

I didn't use the previous right panel at all, instead overlaying different EG art to create a similar effect In the first WIP I wanted to try and include Sienna, so my next source was the EG OST Liner Notes. I tried various things but none of them ended up working out

I made this account over a year ago and didn't touch it again cause I'm not a huge fan of social media but thanks to @taptroupe.bsky.social people have found me and I have to use it again
