During their visit, Ashwin and Kateryna shared insights from their current research on search engines, generative AI, and ferederated social networks, followed by lively discussions about ongoing projects and opportunities for further LMUโ€“QUT cooperation.

Of course, a visit to Munich at this time of year also called for some local culture: together, we made our way to the Wiesn ๐Ÿป and visited the Munich Science Communication Lab (MSCL) exhibition on Planetary Health at Deutsches Museum.

The visit gave us many new ideas, strengthened connections, and exciting prospects for future collaboration. Looking forward to visiting Ilmenau! And they brought us a "Thรผringer Wald" Monopoly that we will get out at our next board game team night and get to know Thuringia better. ๐Ÿ’ธ๐ŸŒฒ

A central theme of our conversations was bias in computational research, what it is, how it gets into our research, and how we can deal with it. The discussions were challenging in the best way and highlighted how important interdisciplinary research is. ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ“Š

๐Ÿš€ Weโ€™re hiring a Postdoc! Our group is looking for a Postdoc to join the team working on computational comm research. If youโ€™re excited about automated content analysis, large text & social-media data, open science, this might be for you. ๐Ÿ’ก Sounds like you or someone you know? Please share/boost!
