Fun facts: The screenwriter's daughters live in Portland now and said their father wrote the script on bar napkins while getting drunk with producers. They forgot the napkins, but the bartender saved them and gave them back when they returned the next day. Also, star Brenda Bakke is an Oregonian!

Try not to be too snobby about *ahem* films and love a Cage performance, but cannot give a shit about MADDEN (2026) based on previews. Like AIR (2023), the"famous guy good at job" premise is utterly boring; not worth watching on the back of an airline seat.

DIGGER (2026) is worth seeing on the big screen. Like THE BRIDE (2026), it's spectacle. Too knowing of itself, but not to the point of pretentiousness because it hints at earnestness. Big filmmaking with big performances inside a unique story which rarely comes out of the Hollywood machine.

Which one of these people would you like to have the power to call up the Oregon National Guard over the next four years?

The poll's findings are the latest sign that Democrats are once again struggling to sell a record of accomplishment to a skeptical public — fewer than 30% of respondents to OPB’s poll said they believe the state is going in the right direction, and 58% signaled that it’s on the wrong track.

People who admire horses from afar: These majestic creatures are connected to the Earth with a wisdom mankind can only imagine. They speak with the wind. People who work with horses every day: Clip Clop here is the dumbest thing on four legs south of the Columbia, but that’s OK. It’s not his fault.
