๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #145: Virtue and a Sledgehammer Unfortunately not quite as good as the the studio's past works. It tackles some interesting themes and the music is incredible, but the gameplay just feels tacked on and incredibly slow. The story could have also used some more depth. 4/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #139: Moadra Basically a new Metroid game. Fun combat with a variety of different weapons to unlock, great exploration with interconnecting areas, and some very nice art too. It does suffer from some pretty bad backtracking even for this genre, but I had fun with it. 7/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #144: Disaster Arms - Impact Project B.A.H.N Very fast and fun boss rush / platform shooter. Pretty good variety with the weapons and some fluid movement too. That and I loved the Newgrounds-esque aesthetic/music. Level design is a bit basic, but a fun time overall. 7/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #143: Fears to Fathom - Scratch Creek It's cool to see the series adapted to co-op, and the fact that each player is split up and has their own unique events is also cool, it's just that the story and gameplay is okay at best. Still fun for the couple hours it lasts. 6/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #142: Strider 2 Very stylish and unique game. The 2.5D environments are great as are the enemy designs and the gameplay is fast, fluid, and fun. It does ultimately boil down to just spamming your one attack over and over, but you'll look super cool doing so ๐Ÿ˜Ž 6.5/10 #PS1 #PSX

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #141: Fears to Fathom: Home Alone A short but effective horror game. Oddly nostalgic (in a bad way), reminds me of the feeling of being home alone as a kid and all the little sounds I would be paranoid about. Did get a jump out of me at one point ๐Ÿ˜ญ Worth a play. 6/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #140: Oh Deer Very simple yet effective friendslop. Basically prop hunt but as deer. It's fun for maybe an hour and I can see myself coming back to it from time to time, but it desperately needs more maps and content in general to be anything more than that. 6/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #138: Car Park Capital Absolutely love the aesthetic of this game, reminiscent of RCT 1/2, some of my fav tycoon games ever. And the gameplay is solid! Very resource management heavy, but fun and wacky. Great Early Access release, I hope we get more scenarios soon! 7.5/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #137: Paperhead Very very fast boomer shooter with some great gameplay, plenty of guns and enemy variety, and cool level design, but some pretty bad performance issues (even on a 5090). The story was interesting at times, but felt a bit convoluted for the genre. 6/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #136: Okko The Exiled Exceptional pixel art coupled with some surprisingly fleshed out combat for the genre. Plenty of movement options too, makes the gameplay feel fast and fun. That said, additional polish would have been nice and I can't say I cared for the story. 6/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #135: Toem 2 Beautiful follow-up to the original. Absolutely loved the art style, the cute cast of characters, and the simple, yet fun quest-based gameplay. Takes maybe 3-4 hours to complete, but it's very comfy and well worth the play. Please give me 10 more. 8/10 #IndieGames

I had an appointment today and a student doctor that I have never met walked in. hadn't even introduced herself before she looked at me and asked "do you like anime??" I have never felt so insulted in my life ๐Ÿฅฒ

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #134: Tombwater I love the combo of souls, eldritch horror, and western here, but the game does feel a bit empty. Exploring isn't really rewarding and the in-game map is not great. Combat is mostly fun, but definitely jank at times. Not really an easy recommendation. 5/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #133: Memolith: Forsaken by Light Decent turn-based tactical RPG with great art dragged down by lack of polish and weird design choices. The UI needs some serious cleanup, controller movement feels weird, the balancing is off... Really, it just needed a bit more time. 4/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #131: Magical Blush Very cool action-adventure that feels like a combo of Zelda and metroidvania with a neat magic system on top. I liked the spell variety, the level design, the pixel-3Dish graphics, but the game is a bit janky in areas and the story is just okay. 7/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #132: Wanderburg It's like Vampire Survivors, but with mobile castles! Pretty fun roguelike with some good replayability given all the upgrade enemy types. The UI and overall polish really need some cleaning up, but it's fairly solid for an Early Access release. 6/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #130: Blood Dungeon Incredibly addicting roguelike with some excellent music and art, plenty of build variety, and tons to unlock. The movement takes some getting used to, but the gameplay is fluid, fast-paced, and very fun. The whip and bouncy ball are OP. 8/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #129: Apidya' Special Absolutely beautiful art/music for this remaster, but the gameplay is pretty standard for the genre and the upgrade system isn't really that exciting. Still, I enjoyed playing through it in co-op and the added accessibility features are great. 5.5/10

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #128: Life Force Very cool shmup with a fun upgrade system and some great level variety (swapping from horizontal to vertical is very cool). Does suffer from the usual frustrating game design of its era, like enemies spawning on top of you, but a pretty solid shmup overall. 6/10 #NES

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #127: The Children of Clay Weird little archeology horror game. Loved the stop motion animation and the folk/mythology theming, I just wish it was fleshed out a bit more. Given its length, it works more as a proof of concept. Still fun and worth a look though. 6/10 #IndieGames

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #126: Fantasy Zone Super cute and stylish shmup with some great music and a fun shop/item system. I loved the art, the bidirectional gameplay, the overall speed, but oh my god the difficulty is all over the place. The final boss made me want to jump out a window. 6/10 #Genesis

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #125: Balloon Fight The controls are floaty, but that's kinda the point and the physics are actually pretty good for the time period. Also I love the little song that plays during the bonus rounds. Not something I regret playing, but not worth going out of your way to do so. 5/10 #NES

๐ŸŽฎ 2026 Game #124: Big Walk Very charming and chill multiplayer puzzler with some genuinely fun voice gameplay mechanics and plenty to explore. I enjoyed walking with my friends and breaking the puzzles together, but it desperately needs improved prox chat and a voice slider. 7.5/10 #IndieGames
