YCSE SPOILERY ANALYSIS: I don’t think Seyfried did anything wrong but I do think it’s interesting how she excuses exaggerations in The Dropout with “it’s TV” and “it’s fiction”, which directly parallels the “they’re entrepreneurs” excuse earlier given on Holmes’s behalf.

my opinion about most ethical dilemma / thought experiments is basically the same as most physicists’ opinions about power series

computer do you have novelty? you do? something that is not a pure reflection of me and my dissatisfaction with myself? now that i can get into. in fact, perhaps i want to fuck it shit no i do not.

maybe we’re leaving the era where you can make money by being a huge nerd and I actually have pretty bad life prospects beyond this point 🥰

“it’s not that deep” is a bad attitude towards thinking about things but “your first analytical impulse is sometimes worthless” is a good one

everyone is taking cheap shots at “it’s not my job to educate you” and I don’t think I’ve heard anyone actually say that earnestly in like a decade?

tbh I think people are actually using it as synecdoche for some broader criticism about ppl caring more about coalition quality / purity than coalition building

19th century Ryan Grim: Based on the orderly nature of the stab wounds, “the ripper” is a highly inaccurate name. Its journalistic malpractice to not give “Jack” credit for minimizing suffering and killing painlessly 19th century Michael Tracey: I think these bitches alive 💯

in the first two paragraphs we got "the transformative music was in the middle of the pandemic," weasel words, mixed metaphors, a sentence that uses both "to me" and "for me", and one sentence that actually doesn't even make sense

I’m worried that maybe umibe no etranger is not actually very good… maybe it’s just a style thing but it seems to jump through a series of vignettes in a confusing way and I just don’t feel like im actually getting to know the characters

also sometimes it straight up seems to resist comprehension to me Like, this seems like it’s supposed to explain why Mio never called Shun after the first attempt. But we already knew he wanted to become an independent adult at the group home. And it doesn’t actually explain why he didn’t call!

everyone mad about the rtd doctor who stuff should consider the fact that it’s really funny and cool and camp when he lies and he should do it even more

(I love underscores and don’t care I am just Forecasting Drama) (also it’s funny how often ppl listening get it backwards and think she’s making fun of nepo babies even though all the lyrics are always about guilt over and rebellion against and indulgence in wealth)

it's funny how anyone who has been known the internet for a long time will have a group of people who smugly hate them for inscrutable reasons like why do so many 34 year olds hate todd in the shadows

It’s crazy that guy is named Jimmy Donaldson. I feel like that’s like the 50’s American version of John Smith or John Q Public

It’s crazy that progesterone has a disappearing polymorph. Like, I get it with a completely new substance that’s never existed before but that’s just like a hormone that exists in the human body, right?

I feel like my urge for 100 gecs' (unreleased) Fallen 4 Ăś was basically met by like underscores and other acts in the last five years. Which is weird because like 100 gecs kind of prefigured where "hyperpop" would end up going with that one back in 2020
