Life improving ritual - terminator coffee puck. Something I so everyday. I've noticed the drum beat off the main theme of the terminator movies is the ideal way to empty a coffee puck of old grounds consistently. Try it.

The Carrie series was better than I expected. Naturally I knew the story from the movies. Some nice changes and modernisation. And most certainly Fan Fiction. Because it has the ending I always wanted :)

That's annoying - turned the computer on this morning only to discover Microsoft have deemed it necessary that their AI is a startup program. Luckily it can be turned off.

I used to be a diehard "Red-Eye is the best tasting energy drink". But these days the Bad Apple Monster and the Strawberry V and the Mango Solo...

Emder's Game two nights ago - dang those actors look so young! I knew I'd seen the lead elsewhere and it was Kath that reminded me he is Otis in Sex Education. It's really a shame they never made movie of the other books. Last night we saw the director's cut of Dark City.

A version I hadn't seen before. Better than theatrical and for the same reasons as the director's cut of Blade Runner. I'm seeing how many scifi classics (the movies of my people) or son is willing to watch to learn about our culture. He wasn't a fan of the Addams Family...

I gave up on the American version of High Potential that I was kinda enjoying because of the obvious product placement of an AI software. Now I can't get through the introduction for the new Netflix reality gameshow based on Willy Wonka because they've recreated Gene Wilder's voice.

I quite enjoyed Normal. It is unintentionally the American version of Hot Fuzz and if you embrace the American of it, it's enjoyable. Different in almost every way, but with some key tropes.

I have a ritual for eating my son's lunches. Because of the ritalin he's not hungry at school, but he was once. And somedays we also forget to give it too him. Plus it's not a good look if he opens his bag during breaks and there's nothing there.

My ritual is, freeze the cheese sandwich. It's bade with frozen bread anyway (it keeps longer and this is almost the only thing we use bread for - plus it's easier to butter). Good for maybe 3 days of refreezing then it's too stale and gets replaced. I toast the slightly stale sandwich and eat it.

My son is keenly playing and educational programming game that teaches python that I bought yesterday (mostly for him) as part of the Steam coding sale. After getting dressed for school AND eating some breakfast. Distracting him from his first maths test today. Some days are even better than others.

Today, I was proud to join New Yorkers for the 9/11 Day of Service at the Intrepid Museum. September 11th is a day we remember the terror and loss our city endured. It is also a day we remember the extraordinary courage, kindness and generosity New Yorkers showed one another.

Just a headsup based on recent follows - if you are religious and providing religious things, I will be reporting you for child abuse and grooming. Because it's a safe bet.

If you watch one thing today make it this. Absolutely phenomenal debunking of the idea that social media and cell phones are causing a youth mental health crisis, and who that false narrative ultimately serves

Rewatching #Arcane again :) what I like about the various fan fiction content I come across about it is that it's nearly all comfort. Hurt was the series, fans make the cosy slice of life. They have both a great gay couple and two men that are close friends and not gay, as that is also be a thing.

Just finished the MCU. Last being Fantastic Four. So we went and stayed watching the original with the prime minister's son as the bad guy and Jessica Alba as the sister of Chris Evans...

Saw The Backrooms with my almost teen son on the weekend. He's more steeped in this creepy pasta than me, I only watched some of the guys YouTube shots on it previously. Anyhow was more sweary but less violent than I feared. About average jump scares. Needs a sequel.

@midimyers.com listening to your recent One More Thing I have some possible homework if interested GAM (God Awful Movies) roast religious movies and did that movie and had Forrest on as a guest. It's in YouTube and the GAM podcast (episode 553) audioboom.com/posts/889300...

Adrian Tchaikovsky (of Children of Time fame and multi award winner) is a fan of Doctor Who and is bringing out graphic novel series with Paul Cornell and his new publishing house (Sophie Aldred involved). Just listening to an interview with them on the latest podcast episode of Radio Free Skaro.
