I’ve signed with TWB Press to publish my novel, A Bastard Resistance - The Battle for Cebu. The book tells the story of the men and women who fought on after the U.S.-Filipino surrender in WWII, deploying courage, intelligence and humanity in opposition to fierce oppression. Publication: Winter ‘26.

If you haven’t read Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon, I heartily recommend it. It’s one of the most original and brilliant concepts for telling a tale I have encountered.

WSJ Opinion page calls Trump’s invitation to Putin to attend G-20 “morally offensive” and labels Trump a “chump.” Perhaps hereafter we should follow the WSJ’s lead and refer to our head of state as “President Chump.” If someone asks about it, simply say “Just quoting the WSJ.”

Saudi Arabia has around 15% of the world’s reserves of Big Beautiful Oil and is the third leading producer. So, why would the Saudis want to spend billions on a nuclear program? (Hint: They haven’t suddenly fallen in love with alternatives to oil.)

I was in France for the Mets recent descent to the netherworld. My quest for local commiseration produced only a distressing Gallic insouciance. Some seemed to think I wanted directions to a town on the Moselle. I did ask if Lous IX, aka St. Louis, was part owner of the Cardinals: blank stares.

Hegseth says the Strait of Hormuz is open… except that Iranian projectiles are halting the passage of ships. He’d tell us Pearl Harbor was fully operational on 12.7.41; the only impediments to fleet operations were falling Japanese bombs.

This is how reprehensible Trump’s assault has become. The WSJ (the WSJ!) has told Trump to knock it off in Minnesota. The editorial board also recommends gag orders for Miller and Noem. In conclusion, the board urges Trump to “have a heart.” Well, good luck with that…

It was a pleasure to hold a book talk at the Elliott Museum in Stuart, Florida regarding my novel, Shadow Islands. We had a good crowd and lively discussion. I recommend the Elliott to anyone who happens to be in the Stuart area.

We had a lively and engaging book talk Sunday re SHADOW ISLANDS. I was fortunate to be joined by V.S. Kemanis, author of INDELICATE DECEPTION. I’m very grateful to the wonderful bookstore Hudson Valley Books for Humanity (Ossining, N.Y.) for hosting us.

My debut novel has now been published: A political scandal, stolen millions, and a cryptic map lead four Vietnam veterans to an abandoned CIA base on a remote Caribbean Island. The only obstacles to finding the loot: modern-day pirates, a local naval garrison, and some well-armed ex-CIA agents.

Kudos to 60 Minutes for its touching report on talented young musicians prohibited from playing with the Marine Corps Band due to an order from ignorant and petty plutocrats. Well done! Somewhere Edmund R. Murrow is smiling.

You are up to date.
