the lack of media literacy now is most agonizing thing ever I keep watching movies with clearly laid out themes, that then have a character directly verbally say those themes on screen, im like that was a little on the nose but ok. then all the reviews are just "1/5 wtf was that movie trying to say"

its like if something happens they dont understand, instead of the confusion prompting them to sit with it more and think about it, they just get uncomfortable or even angry. its perfectly fine to just dislike a movie too obv but if u ask why they are like idk it was Just Bad..... terrifying

could be a little dramatic or pretentious of me but i think it gets me so bothered cuz its just a reminder of everyone hating the shit out of art of all forms. dont resonate with an art piece right away = its scary, bad, should be ridiculed or shouldnt exist. but thats the MO of fascism so yk

yes this is about backrooms but also moreso about HIM 2025 . i think its fine if someone doesnt make a connection right away or needs help to but the thing thats even scarier is people just refusing that its meaning can be any deeper than whats literally happening on screen. anti art society
