I cover the Brewers for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel — and can't stop my own debilitating usage of em dashes.

The Brewers 8-game playoff win streak is tied for the longest winning streak ever within a single postseason according to MLB's postgame notes.

Chris Hook on Brandon Woodruff pitching in the World Series: "I don’t think we can clap enough or say enough or do enough to give him enough applause for what he’s brought to his organization."

Final: Brewers 10, Rays 1 An unforgettable, unbelievable night in St. Pete. The offense erupts for 8 runs with 2 outs. Robert Gasser shoved. Brandon Woodruff closed it out. The Milwaukee Brewers are a win away from winning the freaking World Series.

3 months after announcing he would undergo a second shoulder surgery that would threaten his career, Brandon Woodruff is taking the mound in a World Series game for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Brandon Woodruff just walked to the bullpen mound and is getting loose. I repeat: Brandon Woodruff just walked to the bullpen mound and is getting loose.

Robert Gasser is only the third Brewers pitcher to toss 6+ shutout innings in a postseason game ever. He's the second to do it in the World Series, joining Mike Caldwell, who shut out the Cardinals in Game 1 of the 1982 Classic.

Some of the Brewers bullpen members are coming down the dugout to watch the offense hit, then going back down to the 'pen for the bottom of the inning. Also: Brandon Woodruff just walked in the reverse path to the bullpen.

Robert Gasser is feeling himself. After Jonny DeLuca popped the ball up, he walked off the mound without even thinking about turning around to watch the ball. He got halfway to the foul line before realizing what field he's at and turned to make sure it got caught.

Milwaukee, soak this feeling in. The Brewers have plated 8 runs in the fifth inning. 8 straight batters have reached. Jackson Chourio is 4 for 4.

Brice Turang made Taylor Walls have to make a play. He did not. The second run-scoring single in the series off the Rays shortstop's glove. 4-0.

Great positioning and read by Matt Erickson on the send. Jake Bauers had almost completely come to a stop rounding third but picked up Erickson, who was halfway down the World Series logo. Looked like Contreras just thought the throw was going behind him to the cutoff.

The Brewers strike first, courtesy of the captain. Christian Yelich dumps a RBI single into left against his old pal Freddy Peralta.

Final: Brewers 5, Rays 4 The Brewers are two wins away from their first World Series title. Aaron Ashby is a madman. They are 9-1 this postseason, with every game featuring high-wire drama. I hope your hearts can handle it.

If the Brewers hang on to win this game...do not overlook those pair of blocks by William Contreras with the tying run on second.

Really thought there might be a shot at a safe call there if you stitched together the overhead angle showing the tag not on him as his foot is over the plate and the field-level one that shows the toe touching the plate. But 50/50 (or 60/40) calls do not get overturned in Major League Baseball.

Logan Henderson showed something with his fastball to Yandy Diaz and Jonathan Aranda. Pat Murphy was ready to bring in JoJo Romero at any moment. Henderson may have just bought himself some more time.

Liam Hicks makes it 4-0. Logan Henderson hadn't allowed more than 3 runs in a single of his career start and has now done it in consecutive playoff games. Oh, Drew Rasmussen is on the other side.

The Tampa Bay Rays are not here to swing and miss. Junior Caminero makes it 2-0. Logan Henderson has thrown 13 2-strike pitches and has one whiff or called strike.

On my way to the stadium today I saw: -2 pop up merch tents -2 people dressed in chicken costumes outside Miller Park Way KFC -Someone in a David Hamilton jersey dancing on a sidewalk
