I have been thinking about the US healthcare problem and how we could as a nation, redesign the system from the ground up to provide universal health coverage to all Americans. This is not a trivial discussion but, a serious attempt to come up with new ideas to build a new system for everyone.

Step 5: Restructure Social Security Supplemental Insurance (SSI) into the universal heal fund to provide additional coverage for those with chronic or pre-existing conditions.

Step 6: Patients can select an physician (a license to practice medicine in the US requires physican participation) and receive treatment for any condition at the same price from ANY physician, anywhere in the US.

Step 3: Combine all the funding presently used for Medicare & Medicaid, including payroll deductions, health savings plans and employer contributions into a single universal heal fund.

Step 4: Pay each citizen a fixed annual amount that would cover all the costs (as set by Congress) for each persons annual medical expenses.

Step 1: Have Congress set FIXED pricing for all medical procedures and medications. No exceptions, and no subsidies.

Step 2: Ban all "for profit healthcare companies" from receipt of any federal or state funding or reimbursements.

I think the Lady is correct. The wealthy have the luxury of money to get any type of healthcare they want, however, Mr. Cuban is not wrong,US healthcare is simply broken and no amount of taxes on billionaires is going to fix it. We need to start over and reimagine a universal system for everyone
