I've gone more than a week without promoting my book; often considered a medical emergency on Social Media. Meanwhile, it's passed 250 downloads. Revenue: $0. Satisfaction: Priceless. It's free, with companion resources and no 30-minute discovery call. github.com/pjhillier/ss...

Alberta has rejected separation. At the next election, it can still separate Danielle Smith from the premier’s office.

Albertans don’t owe her a standing ovation for choosing their country. Saying you always wanted Canada to stay together does rather invite questions about why Smith kept handing out scissors.

Then there was Smith's March 2025 pitch to Trump’s officials: pause the tariff dispute while Canada got through an election, as she complained it was benefiting the Liberals. A touching concern for Canada’s most precious natural resource: Conservative polling numbers. ⠀

And yes, Smith publicly objected to annexation. She recognized the threat. She just governed like recognizing it was the whole fucking job.

DANIELLE SMITH’S NAT'L UNITY PARTICIPATION TROPHY ⠀ Smith is delighted Albertans want to remain in Canada, after her government eased the petition rules and she kept a route to a separation vote open. The woman who installed the ejector seat would now like a medal for keeping everyone aboard.

A Thanksgiving milestone: after years of writing and research, I’ve published The Security-Engineering Convergence, a free, open-access book on engineering security into the systems we depend upon. The story behind it, and links to the book: lnkd.in/p/gHmNJ6RH #SystemsEngineering #Cybersecurity

Enough is enough. I am tired of hearing about officials, including judges in other cases, worrying about ruining a young man’s life while ignoring the fact that these young men also ruined someone else’s life. What about her life? Is her life not measured the same as these young men’s?

Friends, I’m asking you to give up a couple hours to save our democracy. On Saturday, October 17, the No Kings movement will hold its fourth nationwide mobilization, but this one is different. The

Trump banned reporters, lost coverage, then launched TRUMP TV. This is what happens when “I’d like to speak to the manager” reaches its constitutional limit.

He banned three news outlets and got a joint lawsuit. The man finally brought the media together. Someone get him a participation Nobel.

Imagine picking a fight with three organizations that document things for a living, then helpfully posting your motives online. His legal team must hear the Truth Social notification and reach for a drink.

Trump wanted his name in every headline. The networks are adding it to court filings. Finally, coverage that addresses him by his proper title: Defendant.

He wants every network to carry him live while he explains how irrelevant they are. That’s a hell of a lot of dependence for a man performing dominance.

Imagine having the presidency, a private jet and a nuclear arsenal; and still having your afternoon ruined by a reporter who won’t tell you you’re special.

Trump: WE HAVE PERMANENT CONTROL OF GREENLAND. Greenland: No, you don’t. Denmark: No, you don’t. 85 years of US military presence: Am I a fucking joke to you? Nothing says “master negotiator” like creating a NATO crisis to rediscover an agreement America basically already had.

Trump spent months threatening a NATO ally over Greenland, then emerged triumphantly announcing America gets military access to Greenland. The US has been there since 1941. He basically renewed an 85-year-old arrangement and came downstairs like he’d conquered Denmark.

Trump's sons get board seats. Their companies get federal contracts. Trump trades stocks from the Oval Office. Every piece of this stinks: a family using the White House as a private ATM while ordinary people get crushed by bills they can barely pay. #StopTrumpCorruption

Mike Johnson sent the House home with Hegseth’s impeachment push pending. Nothing screams confidence in your defence secretary like evacuating Congress when accountability knocks. “Land of the brave,” managed by people who see a roll-call vote and fucking scatter.

Mitch McConnell is back. Washington’s zombie franchise gets another sequel because apparently forty years of this shit wasn’t enough. In most zombie films, you barricade the doors. In the Senate, you give the sequel committee assignments. The Walking Deadlock.

#Trump threatens #Canada, then throws a tantrum when we get closer to #Europe. He’s the ex who says nobody else will want you, then threatens your date. The Art of the Deal: make yourself so fucking unbearable that your allies build an exit. Keep selling it, Donald.

What's better evidence of knowing you're doing something right than the POTUS opposing Canada's emerging relationship with the EU and threatening additional tariffs!? #STFUTrump

An Anthropic scientist puts the chance of AI killing humanity within a decade above 10%. Meanwhile, the Pentagon wanted Anthropic’s restrictions on mass surveillance and autonomous weapons removed. The machine may destroy us, but government wants administrator privileges first.
