OK so Wildwood the new Laika film, I don't want to overhype it but it is proof that art is magic. It is a masterpiece by artists at the top of their craft, presenting stop motion on a scale that boggles the mind. OK maybe I do want to overhype it, easily my favorite film of the year so far.

I remember hiding under the seat in the theater when this bad boy appeared in Return of the Jedi.

Crater lake in Oregon is just an absurdly beautiful location, that is all.

Make a band bigger: Unleash the Ballistas

Just finished reading the excellent graphic novel I Am Their Silence. It's fun, funny and occasionally thrilling story about a psychiatrist trying to solve a crime she has somehow become entangled in while dealing with her own personal issues.

In Cyberpunk why is it important to pick the right crew to roll with in Night City? Because it's a chooms your own adventure.

@bluedaybreak.bsky.social you've been holding back on me all these years with your tres leches cake.

Slightly increase a band Hard of Hearing Leppard

I mean I'm just gonna replace scream with quietly sob in the restroom because screaming here would probably be bad but yeah this has mostly been my day.

i know it's 90% off but a warning to potential customers not to buy the steam version of heavy rain. it is not safe. it installs heavy rain on your computer

You should give this brilliant short comic a read!

"You'll be visited by three spirits" The three spirits:

My fourteenth piece for my solo show @gallerynucleus.bsky.social! Two more days to see my show in person! #illustration #kidlitart #watercolor #gouache #fantasyart #storybookillustration #fantasyart #fantasyillustration

This is a very fun little comic, definitely recommend checking it out.

Got to DJ at a goth show tonight for the first time in 5 years and oh man it felt so good!

Saw Weapons last night and holy hell was it good. Knows just when to release tension with a laugh and when to let it linger and build. I thought the ending of Cregger's last film Barbarian missed the mark a bit but here he sticks the landing in a wildly over the top way.

Got to see Murder by Death for possibly the last time ever as they are on their farewell tour. I've only been listening to them since 2019 but I've seen them live 4 times in that period. They give such an amazing live show, the energy from the band and the crowd is unbelievable.

Fables of Erlking Wood from @juniba.bsky.social and @goatsflyingpress.com is a fantastic graphic novel, with gorgeous art and storytelling that reminds me of Mignola in regards to its handling of stories and myths. Plus it's got a trickster fox character, who doesn't like a trickster fox character.

My cat Homelite is easily startled, one day at home I jokingly asked her why so skittish and well then this idea popped in my head.

Was running a multi year Curse of Strahd game for some friends, important note we are in Iowa. Then the Iowa Hawkeye's Women's basketball team with Caitlin Clark managed to make the NCAA tournament finals in back to back years on days that we had scheduled game for.

Got thinking about Aang talking to the previous Avatars about how to deal with Ozai and then somehow my brain jumped to this.

Gonna post a couple meme type things I've made over the years because why not. Starting with my general attitude on where sleep fell on the priority list when Baldur's Gate 3 came out.

Well son of a birch, I can finally stop pining for this to arrive. Everything is oak-kay now that I have my Hundreds of Beavers wood box edition. #HundredsOfBeavers

Got this super sweet Tattoo from a friend of mine, it is inspired by the Album The Fox and The Bird by the band OK Goodnight. www.instagram.com/reel/DFnsWIE...

The longer this year goes, the more I think this character is onto something...

Inspired by something I saw at work.

Played a fun game at pax unplugged called Shadow Ninja, it's a cats vs dogs ninja vs samurai game from Outset. #OutsetAtPAX

Winning a MtG Mystery Booster draft and getting a $280 card as the prize makes for a pretty good day.

Stop what you're doing and post a gif of your favourite anime!

Finished a couple video games recently. Disco Elysium is fantastic, funny, somber, surreal and I could honestly keep going, it's great if you like RPGs give it a go. Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is a fun Symphony of the Night style game but pick it up on sale as it's short, I beat it in about 7 hrs.

This is way funnier than it has any right to be!

Finally got to see Floggy Molly in concert, they were every bit as fun an energetic as I had heard. Pair that with Amigo the Devil's charismatic macabre folk and it was a hell of a show.

I should post more so I'll start with gushing about it being my favorite time of year, I help run a game convention called Gamicon and it has been going fantastic. Ran Kill Dr. lucky one night and then a clue version of it the next night. Tired but elated with one more day to go.
