I spend a lot of time treating this account like a journal, so you'll see a lot of complaining when life gets rough. If you just want to see art, I'll be cross-posting things to @daimerart.bsky.social in much the same way I curate artslush.tumblr.com

artslush.tumblr.comWhere Artsy Brainslush Stuff Goes To DieI frequently draw body horror, and occasionally gore. This is your final warning. Asks should be...

Decided to redraw one of these old things. Something that only matters to me. Kinda phoned in the coloring tho; IbisPaint overhauled their stabilization, and the new one does NOT work with my muscle memory. There's an option to use 'legacy' stabilization, but it does NOT work like the old one.

I was digging through boxes my parents sent me and I found a box of very VERY old classwork. Here's some of my favorites. Once a horror child, always a horror child.

Look Outside on Nintendo Switch 2. Look Outside on Nintendo Switch. Look Outside on PlayStation 5. Look Outside on PlayStation 4. All on October 30. πŸͺŸ πŸ‘€

Rewatching King's Quest VII and getting so many huge memory flashbacks, like I knew this game was a big part of my childhood, but just HOW MUCH is beginning to flood back. The whole scenario with the Crystal Dragon is making me tear up.

Looking at pet pages, it has suddenly become abundantly clear that official Neopets heights make NO sense. Official art never adheres to this in site art/events/comics/etc. It also adds to the relative hilarity that Kueen (Ruki) is the strongest one of all of them in the Battledome by a LONG shot.

You can tell I'm not in a great place when I'm spending more time in Neopets again as a time sink, lmao. I dropped in two more pets recently (from the free slot that was handed out, as well as some free NC from an event), to use up some costume gear I had lying around collecting digital dust.

I did art of Arthur for the Beauty Contest and won for species; it's *tempting* to do more. Most of these weirdos have been set for appearance for a couple years now, and I don't think I'll be changing them up aside continuing to Lab Ray Gojulus for Robot, and some nice contacts for Wintristet.

The Nightmare devouring King Morpheus in Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland. But the devouring wasn't what scared me; it was the accusation being shifted to Nemo after, and everyone turning to blame him before waking up into another dream. "But Nemo had the key!" is still burned into my mind.

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

There is a good chance there was earlier media I saw that sat with me in a more subliminal way (after watching Vampire Hunter D for the 'first' time a few years ago, I was shocked at how much of it felt... eerily familiar), but this is the earliest one that I explicitly remember and can name.

Followed closely, of course, by The Clown Scene in Brave Little Toaster. 🀣 I'm not even afraid of clowns! But this scene scared me as a kid and I had to skip it whenever I watched it (which was often). Compare that to the fear from only seeing Little Nemo ONCE and having it impact me that hard.

Still feeling meh, but refining existing incomplete stuff is a nice low-impact way to get Something done, so I decided to soup up this drawing. She IS one of my favorite old characters who gets around in my headworld (even if most people are supernaturally incapable of remembering her in-universe).

Yay for old character revision~

Love it, in the rare event I get it! I treasure gift-art dearly. Main boundaries are rather typical; try to keep characters in-character, and don't be a perv/creep. ...and understand that gift art is NOT a trade! Don't try guilt-tripping for reciprocation and throw hissy fits if you don't get any!

okay OC artists/ppl with OCs, QRP this if you're okay with surprise character fanart and what your boundaries are with that (in a general sense)

Oh, and no AI. That's NOT art. "I liked your thing so I fed it into a machine to copy it" is not flattering. Thankfully I haven't had to deal with this, but it's becoming more of a threat now.

Hm... since I've found myself with free time and reduced art motivation, maybe with the advent of Legacy of the Bloodmoon, it's time I jumped back into Vampire Survivors for a little bit (since the last update I played was The Coop, and there have been a few BIG updates since then)... ...maybe...

Sometimes someone very disruptive who everyone tiptoes around to avoid hurting their feelings leaves themself wide open to a huge burn and it takes every fiber of my being to not be an asshole and roast them to a crisp on the spot even if A) it'd be SO easy, and B) honestly they kind of deserve it.

I wasn't following the Ratatan updates closely and didn't realize until just now - moments before they lock down orders for the Kickstarter - that they dropped Switch 1 physical editions for Switch 2 only. ...I don't have a Switch 2. I have NO intention of buying a Switch 2. Kinda bullshit.

I pledged extra for a "physical edition" and the only platforms I actually have are Steam or GoG, which wouldn't be a physical edition at all, just a fucking code in a box... and the whole reason I pledged for physical edition was because I WANTED TO PLAY IT ON SWITCH to relive the PSP Patapon days.

Offering to help somebody in order to feel useful/included when you don't have the capability/desire to ACTUALLY help probably hurts your reputation more than not offering to help in the first place. Pretending to be reliable and flaking causes more harm than admitting you can't/won't do anything.

Flowers are now maturing!!! Male for now. Note: Did a little digging, and it turns out Jackfruit plants are monoecious, they just start off producing male flowers first and start growing female ones later. Kind of makes sense, since the tree would have to be way sturdier to support the full fruit.

Find you someone who loves you the way I love Slater from Oil's Well. (aka someone willing to take individual screenshots of your animation, edit out the background, and piece them back together to make dumb emotes)

Hate how every manufacturer of electronic anything wants their stuff to charge with a USB cable these days, but they always assume you have free USB adapters lying around or open ports on a computer and never provide adapters.

tfw you're watching old videos and you're an idiot who sees a funny comment on the top of the comments section of the video, Like it, and then realize it's your own comment from 7 years ago (it's me, I'm idiot)

Also a reminder to Bandcamp users that it is !!BANDCAMP FRIDAY!! today! Best time to grab this!!

It took more than a year, but @frankiepixel.bsky.social Look Outside OST is finally available on Spotify, Apple Music, Qobuz and more! nowplaying.cool/hit-indie-ga...

Not a Marvelhead, but Tokon is preettyy as expected of my usual infatuation with the look of ArcSys fighters. But, as with most ArcSys fighters, it's over my head to play. Carnage is Peak Aesthetic, tho. One day people will consider characters with his fighting style who aren't evil murderfuckers.

I mean, I have some for sure, but it's not the same as a personal project by a nobody vs common/popular media depictions always making characters with his aesthetic purely evil/amoral, or at best dubiously moral antiheroes. Media typecasting 'scary' monster aesthetics to evil will annoy me forever.

Nectarine can be a great way to have a solid playlist of good chiptune music from artists I've never heard of before, but occasionally someone will queue up twenty "Baby's First Midi Composition" tracks in a row and I need to turn it off.

There's something weirdly funny about seeing a Big Name Tumblr blog that I don't follow occasionally reblog some of my odd non-fandom posts, knowing that two people I had a heavy falling out with years ago DID follow that blog religiously back in the day.

Finding a B*d Dr*gon sticker on an electric box of an apartment complex (not mine) that I walk by nearly every day that WASN'T there two days ago is a very specific kind of environmental storytelling that I can't help but laugh at.
