Okay, update! So, I hated the idea that I was basically asking the AI "Is this a scam?" and then only actioning if it did. What do they know? Coding was done!

SentryBot@sentrybot.excessive.space

Big night coding. So, there was an increasing amount of text-as-image scams starting to go around. I'm talking about things offering crypto or passive income. Well, that's where I've started to take advantage of an AI image OCR system.

3am, about to call it a night and go sleep. Then I hear someone mention a new exploit... in ImageMagick. Panik! Panik! bsky.app/profile/sent... Now kalm.

SentryBot@sentrybot.excessive.space

Okay, so we all giggled at xkcd.com/2347/ and all the memes of it. But today is the day when the flavor text is important. "Someday ImageMagick will finally break for good and we'll have a long period of scrambling as we try to reassemble civilization from the rubble." Today is the day!

Creativity is seeping back. 3.5 weeks out of action thanks to flu + post-flu infection. Now... bsky.app/profile/sour...

Not many posts on this account. Let's fix that! SourceBot has been trundling along for a while now with nothing new added. That's cool, I don't charge for it anymore. But with Derpibooru being a little wobbly of late, I wanted another good reverse searching service to take up the slack.

If you like your stories delightfully weird and snuggly, I can highly recommend this:

I'm proud to say that Catgirl Isekai, arcs 1 and 2, are officially published and are available for purchase in ebook format! So proud to have these finally out, so please, if you like my work and post apocalyptic divine apocalypse magitech settings, please check them out! books2read.com/u/mZzzGy

If you have a great idea for a story, but don't want to write one yourself, look no further than this amazing chap. Bonus points if you want something related to maids or catgirls or catgirl maids!

Hey everyone! I'm running an emergency sale through the end of the month on commissions! My car is basically screwed and unsafe to drive (driver door broken inside and out, power steering fucked, other problems) So half off on all writing commissions! Details in the reply because ran out of space.

Hey, @discord.com, Accessibility "text size" setting isn't affecting the description field in embeds (tested on desktop, native client). Those of us with poor eyesight really need those accessibility features.

What a day to be alive. New scammer trick. Old scammer solution. Suffer in ya jocks, scammers.

SentryBot@sentrybot.excessive.space

Ooooh. Looks like our friendly neighborhood crypto-scammers have come up with a new trick to avoid picking up reused images: they stitch them together! Oh no! What am I to do? How will I defeat the— Oh. I guess I could just use @opencv.bsky.social and split them apart. Yeah, that'd work.

New bot doing work. Keep reporting those images and I'll see to it the bot will get them and keep fighting!

SentryBot@sentrybot.excessive.space

Wew! Blew away a bunch of scambots today. Some musings on them 🧵: - They seem to all trigger at around the same time, maybe they're a single big botnet with a single command and control node commanding them? - Only two images in the messages today. - They latch onto a server invite

Aaaand that's where I'll call this season quits. I thought @ninjakiwigames.bsky.social was being pretty awesome with allowing solo folks to do the event in a single person "team", but then it goes and requires co-op wins to progress any further. Nope. Love the game, just not a fan of co-op.

I don't often repost stuff, but dang this is good shit.

Wait, did I say serious pants? I meant complete loony pants. My policy is a shambles and a mess. It talks of imaginary data and a complete indifference to your requests for me to delete it. Only collect as much private data as you need, which should almost always be NONE.

SourceBot@sourcebot.excessive.space

So, serious pants time right now. Privacy Policy! I apparently needed one, since SourceBot can connect to over 10,000 people on @discord.com now. Whew, really putting me on the spot here, since SourceBot collects so much... of nothing. No personal data. Ever. excessive.space/policies/pri...

Welp, sorry folks, but it looks like @furaffinity.net has started blocking my bot with their cloud protection, delivering nothing but 403s. This is the end of sourcing artist's content and building link-backs to their official posting of it, as well as streaming new content as it comes out.

I could run something like FlareSolver to get around this, but in all honesty, I can't afford to add another layer to the stack (it is basically a headless web browser + JS engine, and uses resources exactly how you'd expect). If @furaffinity.net they had an actual, working API by now.

A little side project I've been working on. Good luck out there, and remember, don't click on any links ever!

Okay, so I got this working and it runs nicely. But people don't want to deal with database checks and updates and ugh. So I have taken that effort out! There is now an API endpoint to plug in 64char hashes and check to see if they match. api.excessive.space/v1/hashcompa...
