DanB in The Long Dark

Reminder for myself.

Remembering good times with @emwalz.bsky.social . 9th and College, not far from Flatirons Elementary. Until our paths cross again, may you find adventures every day.

Thank you @hankgreen.bsky.social , I am using the Focus Friend app to reduce screen time on my phone. I lock myself out of my phone during my commute times and while at work. Mindless doom scrolling is down this week while reading books, listening to the radio, and getting small chores done are up.

Rule number one: Don't believe anything he or his enablers say. Verify with your trusted sources.

youtu.be/XfHuuMgWxu4?... Thank you, thank you @indie1023.bsky.social for playing Four Tet's "Into Dust (Still Falling)." An infectious beat that hooked me immediately. I will be looking into both Four Tet and Mazzy Star more this weekend.

Goat curry, steamed vegetables, and beans and rice dinner at Back A Yaad Grill, a wonderful little Jamaican place in Branson, Missouri.

youtu.be/y2iNnjPY8ao?... . Heard this on 102.3 FM @indie1023.bsky.social and I keep replaying it. That refrain, "A thousand people I could be for you and you hate the fucking lot" still hits hard. Beautiful and brutal honesty from Lola Young.

Just finished reading James Norbury's excellent adult fable about embracing difficulty and change, sacrifice and loss. A beautiful book with many small lessons, including find purpose. Just what I needed at this moment.

Just found @lukehumphris.bsky.social When Society Collapsed playlist on YouTube youtube.com/playlist?lis... and now I want to volunteer with The Librarians.
