Does anyone have a contact email for the Business Archives Council. I've tried the contact form, but no reply, and the only email I can find on the webpage keeps bouncing back. I just need a very simple question answered.

Reposting with the added info that salary will depend on experience, but will be within ARA recommendations.

Come work with me. Great team! Really interesting collections! The post is primarily working with our very extensive photographic collection. www.newscareers.co.uk/vacancies/45...

Someone accidentally shares a document to 2000+ people at work. Cue everyone sending "reply all" asking whether they should have received it, or for variation, stating that they have mistakenly been included in the share.

Does any archives people have good examples of how to deal with offensive/outdated language in archive material when cataloguing? Anyone have any examples/guidelines/polices/articles they can send my way?

In the spring I agreed to become the new leader of the Saturday School Danish lessons at the Danish Church in London. Trying to find teachers, all volunteers, over the summer has been one of tge most stressful things I’ve ever had to do.

Tomorrow is the first day back since April… I think everything is finally under control! 😬🤞🏻 (Though if there’s one or two Danish speakers out there who’d like to teach some lovely kids, please don’t feel shy…)

Can we all just agree that unless it is "oh, that looks nice" or "your lunch smells delicious" or other positive comment, there is no reason whatsoever, at all, you should comment on a colleague's lunch.

As we’re in the midst of harvest season, here’s a man weaving a basket in SE England. Taken by Douglas Glass, a Sunday Times photographer working in the 1950s and 1960s. We now hold his full archive so keep an eye out over the next few weeks as we reveal more of these treasures. @thetimes.com

So, I found out today that a past (1920s-1940s) member of staff always known as Miss Davies was in fact married and was Mrs White. Nothing in our archive, not even her obit in The Times or staff magazine, has any indication that she was married. But marriage certificate on Ancestry does not lie.

Me, having sung at numerous weddings during my church choir year: better remember to print order of service copies for organist and singers so they can check against their version of the hymns.

Me - having sung in a church choir from age 9 to 19 and having decided on Danish hymns for my wedding when I was a teen - emails organist with hymn number & details of tune incl. which arrangement I’d prefer. Organist: “If every bride was as organised as you my job would be much easier!”

It's a little known fact that back in the old days #Orkney horses were masters of disguise and could easily blend into their surroundings. You might not believe this but there is a horse standing in this photograph. LIKE if you think you see it. SHARE if you DEFINITELY see it.

Thinking about creating an "archive/RM handbooks" library for our apprentice and other staff. Any suggestions on what should be included? Any archive course teachers out there with reading lists?
