Red Dreams OST 🎧 😉

Gametopia@gametopiastudios.com

Main Theme of Red Dreams, OST composed by Carlos Martorell. The score blends harsh industrial synths with Māori melodic elements, reshaped through resynthesis so they sound ancestral and alien at once. Curious how it lands for you, alien, melancholic, hopeful?

Kiwa, the dream devourer

When you descend to the surface of Kiwa, every decision has consequences. Kiwa doesn't care about your problems or your dreams... It simply devours everything. Message sent by Officer Pania. // #pixelart #indiegame #gameart

Writing #RedDreams, I keep coming back to one question: what is home? For Mere, it's Aotearoa (New Zealand). The hills, the wind, the open air she misses in space. On Wednesday, our newsletter explores what home really means. Enjoy the #storytelling? Subscribe now 🙂 ⬇️

A sea of serenity? #screenshotsaturday #pixelart #ドット絵

There's a certain sense of agony when you see Kiwa so serene… it's just a fleeting respite between another tempest that will shake our very being. How will we ever be able to create life amid the storms? Message sent by Dr. Mere Turei // #screenshotsaturday #pixelart #ドット絵

Red Dreams is heading to #devINITIVEShowcase 2026 🚀 Taking off your helmet is often a sign that you feel at home. Surrounded by so many great Spanish and Latin American games, we feel the same. Join us Sept 16, 21h - CEST www.youtube.com/@dev... There's a lot to discover!

Estoy muy orgulloso de que Red Dreams haya sido seleccionado para el #DevInitiveShowcase 2026. Un nuevo paso de este apasionante viaje junto a un gran equipo. 🚀

Being selected for DevInitive Showcase 2026 feels like a real boost for our Māori journey across the stars. Red Dreams explores memory through a quiet, contemplative lens, like Tarkovsky's cinema. See you Sept 16 @devinitiveshow 🚀 #DevInitiveShowcase #RedDreams

Newsletter #1 for Red Dreams just went out: Kiwa's origin story, my full interview on the creative process behind the Red Ocean, and a little bonus — the game's first dialogue scene. I think you'll enjoy it 😁👇

I've already watched The Odyssey, and I really enjoyed it 😁 I'd like to mention the adventure game Odyssey: The Search for Ulysses from Cryo (2000). The game had some design problems, but it had an evocative mood, and it was so cool to follow Ulysses' journey. Did you play it?

8) From script to level design We draw maps to ensure that the narrative and gameplay flow smoothly. Often we have to adjust parts of the script or redesign parts of the map to improve the narrative. We use Illustrator to create the maps and we paint the pixel art on them.

6) Interactive dialogues Every dialogue has to serve the story, like presenting a problem, opening a new mission, or getting key information. We write the dialogue with all its options and decisions separately from the main script. We use Draw.io.

7) Analyze the characters Once the entire story is finished, we focus on each character for a final review. We want to ensure they all have their own agenda and motivations, undergo transformation, and serve the story. This review helps you fill in any holes in the plot.

4) Worldbuilding We create a comprehensive document detailing the world's rules and a timeline of events that occurred before the game begins. This information doesn't necessarily appear in the story, but it helps us to understand why things happen and ensures consistency.

5) Writing the video game script When writing all the branches and possible endings, we focus on intention and obstacles—in other words, the conflicts the character must overcome to achieve their goal. Each scene must have its own. We use Final Draft.

2) Exhaustive documentation One of the main comments we receive from our players is that they like to learn new things while playing. That is our motivation for writing, but first, we need to read a large amount of material and search for information.

1) Why do I want to write about...? For us, it is essential to know why we want to tell a story In Verne: The Shape of Fantasy, I wanted to evoke nostalgia for the extraordinary, pay tribute to Jules Verne—who captured my imagination as a child—and introduce players to his works.
