Dan J Kroll

I've been incredibly nostalgic and introspective today. Not sure what that's all about, but if it lingers expect lots of trips down memory lane coming to my feed.

Happy 237 days until summer to all who are counting. This is the "Seattle" dahlia. It's one of my favorites. The other tubers I planted "reverted" to different blooms. This one popped up on its own very, very late in the season and it made me smile with TWO beautiful flowers. #bloomscrolling 🌱

Happy 238 days until summer to all who are counting. It might be almost Halloween, but this "PJM Elite" rhododendron is sending out another wave of blooms while its leaves turn all shades of autumn. #flower #flowers #bloomscrolling #garden 🌱

This is the little video I put together to promote my #BeyondtheGates commentary and podcast this week. Watch 'til the end for a very special #BTG guest! Links to read or listen are here: bio.party/danjkroll

“What a beautiful sunrise rose!” 🌹 🌅 @allegrafilomena.bsky.social

Happy 239 days until summer to all who are counting. The flowers seemed to survive another subfreezing night. Perhaps they are dancing to stay warm, like this "Flamenco" rose, which looks like it is glowing in the sunshine. #rose #autumnvibes #flower #flowers #bloomscrolling 🌱

Trying to avoid all those political ads on TV? Fire up my latest #BeyondtheGates podcast (I do talk about Miss Edmonia!) Will Ted & Shanice get to "I do"? Hayley pregnant? And more! #BTG SPOTIFY danjkroll.com/blog/7ikb AMAZON danjkroll.com/blog/4hjt APPLE danjkroll.com/blog/ir57

Happy 240 days until summer to all who are counting. Last night's temp dipped below freezing, so the growing season is technically over. I decided to cut some of the remaining dahlias and bring them inside to warm up. I will keep posting daily flower photos as long as they keep blooming. #flowers 🌱

Did you love or hate Dani's Welcome To Your Life interview? Are Jacob and Naomi are barreling toward divorce? Is Heather a goner? And were you surprised a Hay-lette is on the way? Check out my #BeyondTheGates column for my thoughts on this week on #BTG danjkroll.com/blog/my-view...

If you prefer to read a commentary rather than listen to it, this week's #BeyondTheGates column is posted. A look at Dani's life, the arrival of Smitty's mom, trouble in Jacob and Naomi's paradise, Hayley's positive outcome, and more. #BTG #soapsky danjkroll.com/blog/my-view...

Happy 241 days until summer to all who are counting. Double bloom October continues. These are more David Austin roses. The yellow is "The Poet's Wife," the pink "Strawberry Hill," and the purpley-red is "Darcey Bussell." I think the growing season will end this weekend. #rose #flowers #garden l 🌱

Drama unfolds while looking back at Dani's model life. Plus, Smitty's mom exists, Jacob resents the Duprees, Martin gets an earful, & Hayley's unexpected positive outcome. #BeyondtheGates #BTG podcast SPOTIFY danjkroll.com/blog/7ikb AMAZON danjkroll.com/blog/4hjt APPLE danjkroll.com/blog/ir57

Happy 242 days until summer to all who are counting. It's another mid-October two-for-one special. This is "Miss Congeniality." She's a favorite because of the delicate pink coloring on otherwise white petals. #rose #flower #flowers #flowerphotography #garden 🌱

Happy 243 days until summer to all who are counting. This is "St. Swithun," another of my David Austin roses. It was named in honor of the 900th anniversary of Winchester Cathedral (and its patron saint). It is a climbing rose with a really nice myrrh scent. #rose #garden #flowers #flower 🌱

Happy 244 days until summer to all who are counting. If this rose looks like a work of art, that's because it is the "Maurice Utrillo" rose. He was a French painter who specialized in cityscapes. #rose #flowers #flower #garden 🌱

Happy 245 days until summer to all who are counting. This is "Koko Loko," and this is the most beautiful bloom it has produced in all my years of growing it. This photographs much pinker than it actually is. #rose #roses #flower #flowers #garden 🌱

Happy 246 days until summer to all who are counting. It looks like the garden survived the freeze scare. This is "Carding Mill," another David Austin rose. I like that its color changes from different angles and that it has a beautiful fragrance. #flower #flowers #rose #garden 🌱

Happy 247 days until summer to all who are counting. This is "Thomas À Beckett," another of my David Austin roses. This was its first year so I allowed it to focus on growing and strengthening, but it has produced several beautiful blooms. #rose #flower #flowers #garden #fall 🌱

If you prefer to read my thoughts rather than listen to them, here is my latest #BeyondtheGates commentary. There is a LOT to talk about... and hopefully I don't jinx anything. #btg danjkroll.com/blog/my-view...

Who framed Smitty? Who leaked the video? I might have a big clue. Are Ted and Nicole really over? Plus, Heather's interest in Hayley and some silliness amid the drama. My View From #BeyondtheGates Podcast SPOTIFY danjkroll.com/blog/0v5q AMAZON danjkroll.com/blog/l78s APPLE danjkroll.com/blog/aj7q

Happy 248 days until summer to all who are counting. There's probably only 1 day until the growing season ends, so this could be one of the final flowers of the year. This is "Crown Princess Margareta," an English climbing rose by David Austin. Strong fragrance, beautiful abundant blooms. 🌱

Happy 249 days until summer to all who are counting. It's a two-for-one special today. This is "Molineux," another David Austin rose. I guess since it's getting chilly, these blooms are staying warm by snuggling. 🥰 #rose #roses #flower #flowers #garden 🌱

Happy 250 days until summer to all who are counting. This is the first time I am sharing this rose, mostly because it waited until late to really start blooming. This is "Bolero," an extremely fragrant floribunda rose. #rose #flower #flowers #garden 🌱

Happy 252 days until summer to all who are counting. The dahlias are still growing, including this one "Fuzzy Wuzzy," which is a new variety for me this year. Its ruffled edges make this a fun variety to grow. #flower #flowers #garden 🌱

Happy 253 days until summer to all who are counting. A little taste of Provence with a rare early fall rebloom on my lavender plants. Not sure who liked it more... me or the bees! #lavender #flower #flowers #bees #garden 🌱

Happy 254 days until summer to all who are counting. This photo is not AI and it doesn't have some strange filter on it. This is the way "Flamenco" dances in the sunlight. It's almost unreal! It's also blooming better now than it has all summer! #rose #roses #flower #flowers #garden 🌱

Happy 255 days until summer to all who are counting. This came as a HUGE surprise. I was out doing some fall cleanup and saw that one of my irises had rebloomed. It's not uncommon for that to happen, but it's usually in August or September. 🌱

Happy 256 days until summer to all who are counting. I no longer have any idea what dahlia this is. Each bloom is wildly different than the last. It also no longer matches the variety it *should* be. But it's still beautiful. Nature is fun. 😆 #dahlia #flower #flowers #garden 🌱

Happy 257 days until summer to all who are counting. My zinnias didn't do as well this year as in years past, but this particular plant is still flowering late into the year. #flower #flowers #flowerphotography #garden #gardens

Happy 258 days until summer to all who are counting. The English roses are still growing nicely even in the chilly weather. This is "Strawberry Hill," a David Austin rose. It has grown a lot this year, maybe two to three feet. Fragrance is 🥰. #rose #flower #flowers #flowerphotography 🌱

What's the last song you randomly started singing or humming? Not because you just heard it on the radio, but rather it just popped into your brain for no reason?

Happy 259 days until summer to all who are counting. It really feels like fall today, so here is a fall staple: the chrysanthemum. This was a gift three or four years ago from a local garden center. It makes me smile when it returns every year. #flower #flowers #flowerphotography #fall 🌱

Happy 260 days until summer to all who are counting. This is the "Quatre Saisons" (or "Four Seasons") rose. This is the third season in which it has bloomed, but I am not expecting any winter blooms. It has a wonderful fragrance. #rose #flower #flowers #flowerphotography 🌱

Happy 261 days until summer to all who are counting. This is the "Colour Cocktail" rose. The blooms change color as they age, which you can see in this photo. This is vigorous grower, but the trade off is that there is no fragrance. #rose #flower #flowers #flowerphotography 🌱

I don’t think she will be offer but team up with Leslie to get revenge on the Duprees. Not sure what else she can do. Maybe she’ll turn up pregnant and still be a part of the story. Carjacking would have been nice to see. #BTG does a lot of tell not show. I am tired of Eva and her attitude.

Happy 262 days until summer to all who are counting. This is "Angel Face," a frilly, delicate little bloom. It photographs a little pinker than it is in person. It has a sweet, light fragrance. #rose #flower #flowers #flowerphotography 🌱

Happy 263 days until summer to all who are counting. The pop charts are all about choosing Texas, but in my garden we're all about "Teasing Georgia." This is a climbing rose from David Austin. In addition to looking beautiful, it also smells amazing. #rose #flower #flowers #flowerphotography 🌱

The Vandusen Botanical Garden looks nice! 😍 #AmazingRace

I feel like memorizing the flags might be the easier choice. But why wouldn't they split them up rather than both trying to memorize them all? #AmazingRace
