Tomorrow I'm joined by @samlstandsup.bsky.social author of Attacking the Space: Inside Rugby's Tactical and Data Revolution. We chat about his book, the key areas of the game that it sheds light on and the tactical and data revolution that has taken #rugby by storm. www.lccr.ie
That stood out in particular Ireland got their scores in double quick time Scotland had to slog at the line
All Six Nations, Ireland have been excellent defending teams in the 22 on multiple phases. Scotland actually did better in this regard than most, but it cost them a lot to resource. Ireland had fewer rucks, a lower kick-to-pass ratio, and were more efficient. It took Scotland too much effort.
Top right stat has been the most telling so far #irevsco Scotland getting into the redzone but not able to convert it into points so far Making some bad handling errors as well
First Up: #GuinnessM6N Triple Crown decider #IREvSCO. Who’s taking this one? A long time since Scotland had a Triple Crown & Lansdowne Rd. win!!
This is on the back of a terrific Rugby Championship as well Can't but be good for the sport to have things this level
Next weekend three teams could win it and the wooden spoon is pretty up for grabs too. Could be the best edition of the Six Nations ever. It finally *is* anyone could beat anyone, on the day. Well almost: we have to figure out how to beat Ireland
That's my reading sorted for the next while @samlstandsup.bsky.social
No surprise at this, who'll they bring in is a big big decision www.munsterrugby.ie/2026/02/26/m...
Nail on the head, like anyone starting out in the pro game he needs to bulk out a bit which will take time
He needs a big preseason athletically after touring with Ireland in the summer, and something needs to click mentally in defence. It's like he doesn't want to get hit. The last thing the lad needs is a Lions tour where every single weakness he has gets magnified by 1000.
Will take time to get used to him not being coach Been there the whole time I've followed the Spurs since 1997
FROM SHAMS: BREAKING: Gregg Popovich will no longer be Head Coach of the San Antonio Spurs and is transitioning full-time to Team President, sources told ESPN. The iconic Popovich is a Basketball Hall of Famer, the NBA’s all-time winningest coach, and led the Spurs to five championships.
We'll find out Thursday whether players will actually be picked on form or whether the 37 was already picked before today
1. Lions 🧵 Today's result has the potential to impact the Lions selection massively. Farrell as seen with his coaching team planned to go Ireland/Leinster heavy. But the style/tactical changes didn't work over the autumn or 6 nations.
