So Lorne Doerkson wants to emulate former nutbar premier Gordon Campbell. Bad plan. Years ago, Premier Campbell saw me in the middle distance and started working his way toward me, wanting to shake my hand. Not a chance. I looked up with a face that said piss off. And he did. As should Lorne.

Took this last year with my Yashica MAT 124 on Portra 160. Still like it better than anything I've taken this autumn using my Olympus M43 camera. #photography #filmphotography #landscape #utah #autumn #fall

Getting artsy-fartsy with a landscape shot I took at Reelfoot Lake. Sunset through the cypress trees. #naturephotography #ReelfootLake #cypress #sunset #originalphoto #westtennessee

The BC government has announced planning is underway for the Indigenous-Led Conservation Area previously declared for the Raush Valley. Protecting much of this old-growth inland rainforest from road-building and logging. It's long been on my radar. So, good news on this day.

As you begin this day, take a moment to notice those who make your heart feel at home. The laughter you share, the kindness you receive, the love you give—these are the moments that become the richest chapters of our lives. May today bring you countless reasons to smile. #Jaye’sMorningLight

These were my dad’s favorite birds. I lost him a couple years ago and I’ve found it helpful to imagine that his spirit lives on in these birds. I see them often along the bike trails that I frequent and I always say a little hello as I pass.  RED WINGED BLACKBIRD, Acrylic, 16x16” ©2026 Jim Musil

I hiked up to Broken Top Mountain and No Name Lake today. The hike I wanted to do was about 5.6 miles but the road to that start was closed. I ended up hiking 14 miles rated as hard. I’ll be in pain tomorrow!

A lone bird near the pier, stripped down to shape and posture against a simple background. Coastal stillness, held in place for a moment. If scenes like this slow you down, sharing it helps it travel. #Photography #ScottKissPhoto

Heartily recommending Today's Edition Newsletter by Robert B. Hubbell on Substack. Balanced and encouraging. It's the first thing I read early in the morning. He brings an informed perspective to what's happening and what needs to be done. I know he would really appreciate your readership. 🙂

Watching from the outside, I say to my American neighbors, you know it's time for many, many more of you to step up and peacefully petition your federal government. To really put the pressure on. And turn that tide. It's looking grim for your democracy. The water I think is near a roiling boil.
