Popped along to Granton Garden Bakery before the rain to pick up our flour from Lauriston Farm. I had great fun helping with the harvesting and threshing of the Rouge D'Ecosse wheat. Looking forward to some lovely bread!

This is a completely irresponsible decision from the UK government, where is the vision and courage needed to address the climate emergency?

The Jackdaw approval is deeply disappointing. The facts: ‼️ Jackdaw would supply 2% of UK gas demand in its lifetime ‼️ With gas priced internationally, Jackdaw won't lower energy bills More drilling will NOT help people, nature & our energy security. We need a fair renewable energy transition. 🍃

It's always a good start to the week when you're called a c*** simply for riding a bike on the road and inconveniencing a poor hard working car driver 🤨

Beautiful sunny Sunday morning for gorse cutting just down from Arthur's Seat summit with the Ranger Service. Didn't get as much done as we'd hoped as the rangers had a couple of call outs to deal with.

Enjoyed our Love Music Community Choir practice last night at the Usher Hall. And it's not every day that a choir of over 300 sings Happy Birthday to you in a style of your choice! I asked for punk!!

Another morning in Holyrood Park cutting back gorse with the Ranger Service. We're trying to clear larger areas around the Rock Whitebeam. Always good fun to be working in the park.

Windy afternoon for a walk along the Tweed from Peebles to the Neidpath viaduct & back. Lovely late lunch before the bus back to Edinburgh.

I've thoroughly enjoyed volunteering with Restoration Forth, it's been so much fun. Here's hoping we get many more oyster larvae!

The average size of monitored global vertebrate wildlife populations has declined by 73% since 1970. 🚨 But there’s hope - nature can recover. This summer, Restoration Forth grew oyster larvae, a positive step for oyster recovery! 🦪 Action matters. Together we can make a difference.

Very much enjoyed our Love Music Community Choir practice last night. It was great to be singing with Robyn for the first time. The concert is on Monday 9th November at the Usher Hall.

Lovely sunny Monday morning for some weeding at Drakkars Drift garden. What a great use of an old bowling green in Victoria Park.

Fascinating tour of the conservation studios at National Gallery of Scotland Modern One. The only complaint is that we could have done with more time.

Another enjoyable evening at Leith Community Croft listening to music from so many talented folk including my lovely wife performing here for the first time. Feeling autumnal away from the fire.

Had an interesting visit to the Forth Marine Hatchery near North Berwick last week with fellow Restoration Forth volunteers. It was great to hear about the work going on to raise lobsters and also oyster spat.

A very breezy morning in Holyrood Park cutting back gorse with the Ranger Service. Would have been nice to have been working in the sunshine but an enjoyable session nevertheless.

Nothing to see here, car drivers moan, politicians buckle. When will we learn?

You'll have had you action on transport emissions, #Edinburgh. Drivers' "ongoing cost of living pressures" take precedence over public transport, health and the climate. A quite disgrace decision. www.heraldscotland.com/news/2656354...

Another oyster cleaning day at Heriot Watt university with Dornoch Environmental Enhancement Project. There are 5,000 being deployed next week, here's hoping it all goes well.

It's the hypocrisy of the Lib Dems that gets me. Just think about the cost of this work and yet there's no money to repair/replace the bridge in St Mark's Park!

Lib Dems celebrate the final destruction of the Roseburn Path connection to Silverknowes, after six years of outrageous restriction on innocent 4x4 drivers (during which time the road prioritised public transport and active travel).

Sunny morning for my first gorse cutting session of the season with Holyrood Park Ranger Service. We cleared a small area to hopefully give some Rockrose a better chance of doing well.

Sunny morning for a litter pick with Edinburgh Trash Club as part of the Big Forth Clean Up. Marine Esplanade beside the Seafield treatment plant looking a little cleaner now.

Our only Edinburgh International Festival show this year was Mere Mortals last night. Absolutely mesmerising dancing, it's such a joy and a pleasure to watch world class dancers.

Sunny Monday morning wading in the Water of Leith between Saughton Park and Balgreen. Good to get some litter out of the river and banks as well as pulling up some Himalayan Balsam.

Very enjoyable morning at Lauriston Farm threshing the rye we harvested and stacked two weeks ago. A workout with a purpose alongside lovely folk, what could be better?
