MAGA's "Mission to Moscow": Trump's toady-for-hire Steve Witkoff calls Putin "a humanitarian."

Adam Schwarz@adamjschwarz.bsky.social

Steve Witkoff to Putin: "You are a humanitarian also, sir. And I salute that, I commend you, and I thank you again."

Eric Schmitt's humiliation was a "Have you no decency?" moment where, after he bullied a witness, the blustery Senator's pants fell down. From "gotcha" to self-own.

The moment Jack Smith realized Eric Schmitt was talking about the wrong game.

25 years later, we remember the 62 @seiu.org members, among others, whose lives were taken on September 11. They were workers, parents, neighbors, friends and union siblings. We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and their service. Today, we hold them and their families close.💜

9/11: Phrase "first responder" first was widely used. Covid: we talked about "essential workers." These phrases honor working Americans. 3rd calamity -- 2008-09 financial crisis: Working Americans were screwed. Populism Left & Right didn't just happen.

If you want to understand why Abdul El-Sayed is leading Haley Stevens in the Michigan Democratic Senate primary, visit the home pages on their websites. El-Sayed speaks to voters angry at a rigged economy & corrupt politics. Haley could be campaigning in another year.

To those who say NYC's Mayor should not attend 9/11 commemoration -- remembering Bill Clinton's remarks at Vietnam Memorial: "Some have suggested that it is wrong for me to be here with you today... I ask you at this monument: Can any American be out of place?"

Lillian Roberts was the last of the founding generation that built NYC public service unions. Now labor needs to renew the insurgent spirit that fueled mass unionization in NYC government, education & healthcare in the 1950s & 60s. www.nydailynews.com/2026/07/15/a...

"AIPAC absolutely deserves to be criticized, sidelined, and rejected for its decades of negative influence on American foreign policy… But informed criticism of AIPAC is different from casting it as the primary evil influence in American politics."

This is not cool. Yes labor is important. But you can’t misrepresent. McDuffie allies are lying about his endorsements. Not a single labor union has endorsed McDuffie. Union members are united behind Janeese Lewis George for DC Mayor including our affiliate @wtu www.dclabor.org/news/develop...

I called for an investment bank, 1,000 trade schools & tech institutes, a care economy, & capital for places left out. I call it economic patriotism. The problem in America is too few people in too few places control too much of our nation's wealth.

On the 250th year anniversary of our Declaration of Independence against a king, we have a president who wants his signature on our currency & his name stamped on our institutions. We didn't trade one crown for another. Join the No Kings marches this weekend.

At 1988 Democratic National Convention, Jesse Jackson tried to transform how America sees & treats poor people: "Most poor people are not on welfare...They work hard everyday...They catch the early bus. They work every day. They raise other people's children." #JesseJackson

Continuing MLK's Poor People's Campaign & support for Memphis strike, Jackson built support for organizing low-wage workers, raising the minimum wage nationally & locally, & increasing Earned Income Tax Credit. Part of his great legacy.

Jackson's 1988 campaign also pointed the way to a multiracial populism that unites working people from every background for economic justice. 38 years ago but still, sadly, ahead of our times.
