After stifling Angel in Game 1, Valkyries cannot stop her. Second straight double-double and out rebounding GS under their own hoop. Making the early case for Finals MVP. #WNBA

Dream are firing on all cylinders, and Valks have easy shots rimming out. ATL defense is forcing bad, rushed shots. #WNBA

I really hope the vomit and gold jerseys look better in person.

Apple TV gave me the option to skip the intro to Ted Lasso S4E10. As Roy Kent would say, “F no.”

Was hoping for Wings but can't be mad about the Valkyries. That was a fantastic game to watch.

Ted Lasso with all the feels tonight. I may not recover.

To the utter surprise of no one. Almost disqualified because, "No rook could be this good" but Miles is the real real. #MilesAbovetheRest

Ok. I’m crying over baseball. Verlander’s daughter Genevieve ran to the mound to remove him from the game. ⚾️❤️

A Laz Diaz special for Verlander’s fifth K of the day. Not even close to the corner on 3-2 and Diaz rings the guy up. The Pirates wasted their last challenge the inning before on a similarly not close pitch so all they could do is jaw. 🤣

Tickets for Unrivaled in Philly have been purchased! Who put February so far away?! Let's go!

Was out today and heard Natalie Merchant's Wonder playing over he store radio. Haven't listened to Tigerlily in way too long. Currently vibing with one of the finest solo debut albums ever.

Do I love the Skubal trade? No. I'm a Tigers fan and love Skubal. Do I understand the trade? Yes. Tigers shot any hope of holding onto him, so get what you can now; plus, the season has not trended towards a playoff spot. I like the reported return though. Hope for the future.

Saw Spider-man: Brand New Day last night. Loved it. Not just another superhero movie. It is a bit darker than the previous trilogy, but it avoids becoming over serious and brooding. Won't spoil anything but it also shows the growth of another MCU character.

All hail the Tigers of Princeton! An Ivy League team is the D1 lax champion for the second straight year.

Emmet Sheehan day All of his gloves say “K ALS” Strike out ALS. Each time that sentiment is on an MLB mound is incredible 😭😭 #EndALS

This is an incredible show. Really hope it makes it to Broadway. www.broadwaynews.com/exclusive-br...

A blessed TACO Tuesday to all who endure it, again, predictably.

Kudos to UCLA. They dominated on both ends and never let SC get settled or get a run going. I was pulling for SC but happy to see UCLA bring the first title home.

What is up with ROC? Got here for an evening flight and there are 0 places open to eat or grab snacks. I’ve flown out of/through a lot of airports, and you can always find food. This is a big airport in a big city. What the heck!

Finished Nnedi Okorafor's brilliant and compelling Death of the Author. Like reading 3 books at the same time; a narrative of an author and her Nigerian family, a sci-fi futurist novel, and a biography of the author. Just beautiful story telling. 9 billion out of 5 stars!

Saw Project Hail Mary tonight. Two thumbs way up 👎👎 A film will never be able to recreate the fulness of the book, but this one tells the story well in the time allowed. It is beautifully done. Amaze. Amaze. Amaze.

In the house for the closing performance of Dryden HS Mamma Mia! Was here to shoot opening night, and I wanted the chance to just enjoy the singing, dancing, and joyful energy. Kids totally killed it last night. Looking forward to a great closing show.

USA! Gold Medal in OT! What a game on both side of the puck!

I did not have tearing up to @flavorflav.bsky.social talking about promoting women's sports during my commute on my bingo card today. Thank you Good Game with @sarahspain.com

I didn't say it. The Germans did.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Lutherans when riled: And though this world, with devils filled Should threaten to undo us We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us The Prince of Darkness grim We tremble not for him His rage we can endure For lo, his doom is sure One little word shall fell him

That was a completely satisfying end. #StrangerThings

West Wing S1EP5 "Was David Rosen your first choice for my job?" is why I never liked the military shuttle leak story line. Toby was absolutely devoted to Bartlet. There was an unshakable level of trust between them, even after the MS revelation. I still cannot fathom Toby betraying the president.

God-with-us. That means God everywhere, at all times, in every place. In our bodies and every body. In all our barrenness, fearsome deserts, and waste-howling wildernesses. Real ones. The ones we create. The Kingdom is coming. Sunday Musings: Advent 2 open.substack.com/pub/dianabut...

When modern Christians say “it’s not the government’s job to help the poor,” they’re not echoing Jesus, Paul, the prophets, or the early church. They’re echoing figures like Ayn Rand, who despised Christianity’s communal ethic of compassion and called altruism a “moral evil.”

Really wanted the Mariners to end the drought and capture a pennant. Bummed for them and their diehard fans.

Post-season hero doing post-season hero stuff.

I told my son the game was cursed and would never end. It would just be the skeletons of Mariners and Tigers endlessly playing twenty years from now.

🐅 TIGERS ROAR! Let's go!

I did not want to see the Tigers go to extras, but I am happy not to see the zombie runner (Manfred man?) on second base.

I really wish Detroit wasn't playing Seattle right now. My lifelong Tigers fandom is running up hard against my interest in seeing the Mariners finally reach the World Series.

This was an incredible and hopeful discussion. Give it a listen.

Let's go Aces! Trailed most of the game but kept pace and dialed up down the stretch. What a game!

napheesa knew exactly what she was doing dropping that caitlin clark nugget in her prepared statement and i applaud her for doing it -- use the attention economy for your favor.

My guess is she lost the players a long time ago, but the fact that it is spilling out into public spearheaded by one of the WNBA’s most high profile players and leaders, does not bode well for Englebert’s future with the league. From @alexaphilippou.bsky.social www.espn.com/wnba/story/_...

This is a lie. We all saw the video. The Senator clearly identified himself, and he did not "lunge" toward anyone.   If these miserable propagandists will lie to you about roughing up a U.S. Senator in a room full of reporters, what won't they lie to you about?

CORNELL!! 2025 D1 Lax National Champions! Let's go Red!

"If I can't accept the kid the way he is, I'll lose him." A line from Cheers in 1982 from a guy whose son brought home his fiancé...who's black...and a man. 1982.

Yes! This! This is good!
