I was at Iowa-Minnesota today and, while I’m guessing it seemed like slop on tv, it was one of the most fun CFB experiences I’ve ever had. Floyd of Rosedale!

Only one way to make sure!

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Vice President JD Vance will head to Kansas for the second time in two months, seeking to boost Republican incumbent Sen. Roger Marshall in what has become an unexpectedly competitive race for the U.S. Senate.

The entire thing is highly informative and interesting, and the last story with Norv Turner is so, so funny.

For a year, @sandonfl.bsky.social and I dove into what actually goes on in an NFL headset, and the vast networks that make every play possible - hidden in plain sight. Then, the best visuals team in the world made it tangible. A project unlike any you’ve seen: www.nytimes.com/athletic/int...

These would probably sell better if presented as part of “Coastal Honors the Jet Ski.”

When I wake up in the morning And the alarm gives out a warning And I don't think I'll ever make it on time By the time I grab my books And I give myself a look I'm at the corner just in time to see the bus fly by It's alright 'coz I'm saved by Coastal They just dropped their 90s jerseys.

Whatever hack judge issued this warrant needs to be impeached and then disbarred.

This is a carjacking.

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

The NYPD just released surveillance video of the ICE shooting (which occurred off camera). Two men in civilian clothes run up to a car with guns drawn. One second later, one man begins smashing the butt of his gun into the driver’s side window. The driver appears to panic and hit the gas.

Everyone, here is a wonderful way to help. I just donated and you should, too--in whatever amount you can. Run the ball!

This is terrific.

The story of Cavan Sullivan is a story about American soccer idols, and by extension, a story about American soccer itself, both the good and the bad. 20 years after Freddy Adu, American soccer has its prodigy. For @scoutedftbl.com, the tales we weave about Cavan and all that came before (🎁 link):

Yes, the US has pounced in bad passes, but we have had ALL of the ball this half. More juice, more sauce, more quality. An ass-beating.

Everything Rodger writes is worth clicking, but this is beyond. So many twists and turns--WHARFIE TIME!

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social

TODAY! IN! SPORTS! is about the #1 sports story that I have witnessed since I started writing this newsletter The saga of Wharfie Time, the moment an Australian football team played their team's in-stadium hype video at the exact worst possible time

Well, Netflix is off to a good start because Rebecca Lowe is unparalleled. Cannot wait for next summer.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

From @theathleticfc.bsky.social: Rebecca Lowe will be the lead host of Netflix’s coverage of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Lowe presented Fox Sports men’s World Cup coverage this year alongside Thierry Henry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

This performance was magnificent!

The Star Spangled Banner being played by the Mariachi Herencia de Mexico band before the Bears-Eagles game in Chicago on Monday Night Football was a deeply cool thing to see tonight

Marsha Blackburn wearing the Dolly sticker is such a gross perversion. Almost no one on earth less Dolly than that fascist skank.

Many years ago a headhunter called me about a job at a well known organization here and, while I was not looking at the time, I decided to interview just in case. I walked into the room with the ED and two board members and I was asked to leave by bag and phone with the receptionist. I said that...

I don't like iced coffee and I don't necessarily think it's a best practice to bring one to an interview, but if that's what you prospective employer is worried about, then GTFO while you can.

Build a bonfire and all, but this stinks. It's especially gross coming just a couple of months after the absolute smash success of the Seattle World Cup effort.

Jeremiah Oshan@jeremiah.sounderatheart.com

Was just informed that @seattletimes.com is ceasing beat coverage of soccer. Massive loss for both local and national soccer community.
