If the murder of Anne Widdecombe hasn't made this year weird enough, now it seems lick spittle Lindsey has kissed his last ass. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
Sad to say that lick-spittles legacy will be that of a total ass kisser
BREAKING: Sen. Lindsey Graham has died, his office announced in a statement early Sunday. According to reports, emergency responders were dispatched to Graham’s Washington, D.C., home Saturday night following a reported cardiac arrest.

Blue Velvet, 1986 is one of the few David Lunch films I'd previously only seen on video (VHS in the good ol' BlockBuster days). My recollection was scant, limited to a few scenes of Isabella Rossellini, song renditions and an unconvincing animatronic bird at the end (I tend to notice such things).
With tonight's viewing at the Classic Cinema I now have a greater appreciation of Dennis Hoppers performance as a gas huffing psychopath. Despite an irritating audience of weak bladders and some who acted like they were still at home, it was enjoyable.
Slow to start and heavy on the metaphors, it builds tension thanks in large to the performances of all involved. www.imdb.com/title/tt0090...
'Ruggles of Red Gap, 1935' is a quaint "fish out of water" tale that is entertaining if more than a touch mawkish. Charles Laughton plays a buttler lost to a wealthy brash American (played by Charle Ruggles [yes I know]) in a poker game.
The plot is obvious and all performances are good with Roland Young stealing every scene he's in as the Earl of Burnstead. You may remember Roland Young from 'The Man Who Could Work Miracles, 1936' - the version worth watching. www.imdb.com/title/tt0026...
ACMI are currently showing a series of Chinese horror films and last nights 'The 7th Curse' was a hoot. On Friday it was the 1974 classic 'The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires'. It is a film that has aged like an old wine. A wine that has long since turned to vinegar. www.imdb.com/title/tt0070...

You don't hear the expression "pigs dinner" used much these days but it seems apt. Let's start a trend. theonion.com/trump-demand...

My better half and me are long admirers of Alexsandr Sokurov and his works. We have copies of most of his films. But one eludes us still, Taurus (2001). If anyone anywhere knows where a copy can be sought, please let me know. www.imdb.com/title/tt0283...
