I watched this last night. It's terrifying, but hopeful. I feel it's my duty, as a human, to share it. I'd appreciate it if you shared it too. It's specifically made for people in the UK, but it's about everyone, and, the more people see it, the better chance we'll have. www.nebriefing.org/the-film

I have this idea for a new way to present #AI in an #SF novel. I've been planning it for a while now. It struck me today that I may not get to write it, as the human race will be destroyed by AI. There's an irony there. (Even more so, if I used AI to write it.) #booksky net.

Just read up about Star Trek Day. The original series was first shown in Canada on 6-Sep-1966 and in the US the day after Seven of Nine Day, on 8-Sep-1966. It wasn't shown in the UK until three years later, 12-Jul-1969, to coincide with the moon landing. At this point, they'd stopped making it!

Just been to Brierly Hill Market to do some author readings. Here's Dawn the Poet and I doing the opening chapter of The Murders of Conky Whallop. #booksky.

After another convention (#Discworld last weekend), here's the obligatory picture of myself with an empty box that once held #books. This is in the dealer's marquee (or oven) during teardown. #booksky.

I've repainted my keyboard tilting kit, and typing without it as the paint dries is hard. Good job the writing task at the moment is going through a proof with a red pen.

Just watched a video of a 'how to write' talk that used me for some of its examples. Very odd. And thankfully not in the sense of 'do what Jane Austen did, not what David Wake does'. #writing.

Two banks have changed their online interfaces: one is reverting accounts to their original names and only allowing them to be renamed via their app. And the quick transfer has disappeared. It's all to make things 'easier' – sigh. #enshittification #ffs.

If you prefer the cover on the left, then vote by buying a copy now. If you prefer the one on the right, then vote by waiting a week and buying it when I've done the rebrand :–) #cozymystery #comedy #booksky

I upgraded my book holder. I use it to hold a paperback open when going through all the red ink I've added to the proof. It just needs painting and some washers. #writing #booksky.

In a major (for me) strike back against enshittification, I've written a macro to get rid of Word's 'modern' comments, which were slow, didn't have a cursor, nicked screen space and required keyboard to mouse faff. No more. In yer face, Microslop! #writing #enshittification #writesky.

Ah wait. I agree with Day·vid, because Daav·ros isn't the same starting syllable, but not Jam. Jam is short, a thin spread, as opposed to the Jaam in James.

Last Thursday, a number of New Street Authors joined the Solihull Writers at the Core for a set of readings: poetry and prose. Here's me reading from A Dragon in the Title. #booksky #writing
