("dye") I don't *believe* in certain things, but I recognize their inevitability: capitalism, religion, tribalism, fear, greed, malice, mistakes, confusion, ignorance. No offense intended.

“If you get a benevolent dictator, it’s actually extremely efficient." Gigantic, massive, unachievable, impossible "if," working harder than any "if" ever has. How about "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride"?

Michael Clemens@mclem.org

It would be helpful if he read a book. Like one, ever.

2/ They seem to think that LGBTQ+ advocacy means we want everyone to turn gay, and that we think all they need to do is try gayness on, as though that one experiment in college was a gateway drug. Speaking as a straight white male LGBTQ+ supporter: Eeewww!

3/ Hilton and his campaign team fundamentally misunderstand that queerness, unlike religion, is not a choice. Nobody is trying to evangelize people to change their sexuality (except the Right).

"We're killing all the right people." To me, this claim, made sincerely, is the only criterion necessary to indicate that a person is unserious, unqualified for public office, and possibly a murderer.

Feeling overwhelmed with all of this. LISTEN. Another Louisiana resident (Marshawn is the only name we have) testifies against the state’s racial gerrymander, speaking truth to power up and down the hearing room and predicts how this story will end. Speak your truth, fight and believe.

This! A touch screen in a car is one of the most idiotic ideas that manufacturers have come up with.

Oh The Urbanity!@ohtheurbanity.bsky.social

“You’re not supposed to use your phone while driving.” “Got it. Let’s install large tablet touchscreens in almost every single new car.”

Somehow, "don't force us to get vaccinated" has turned into "force everyone to not get vaccinated." That's a whole magnitude or so worse.

I just realized the U.S.A. doesn't have a Department of Excursions. It does, however, supposedly have a Department of *War*, which is currently engaged in either a spat or a tiff.

It looks like the winter of 2025-2026 might never end, seeing as more and more snowflakes and ice are falling every day, with no end in sight.

Here's what democrats can do to be taken more seriously: Figure out your principles AND STICK TO THEM! Don't triangulate on immigration as Harris did in 2024. Don't "shift to the center" in the general. This is why people don't like you (even when they hold their noses and vote for you).

Thought of the day: There is little evidence that immigrants to the U.S. commit crimes at a significantly greater rate per capita than citizens do, except for the crime of existing.

Any person who claims that a group of humans is "not as good" as them or "deserves" less freedom has instantly disqualified themselves from being treated like a real human. When you see someone behave this way, remember that anything else they say is meaningless or criminal.

Today's thoughts about society: 1. To live in a society that treats you better, you’ll have to create a society that’s designed to systematically treat everyone better. 2. To create a society that treats everyone better, you have to want everyone to be treated better.

I keep seeing photos of trump with the right side of his face drooping, but haven't noticed anyone commenting on it. Are these photos real? Not being a doctor, I don't know if a stroke is the only explanation, but if so, it seems like a pretty big thing.

We seem to be the ones who are confused about the regime's intentions. I wish the media would stop trying to analyze their statements as if they were intended to make sense.

Why is it that the right wing is worried about low birth rates in America, but they keep trying to deport all those "anchor babies" and child immigrants who could contribute to a solution?

You are up to date.
