AOC is a legend. Also, this article failed to mention Andy "the Mensch" Beshear, who defended trans rights against the entire legislature of red Kentucky, and he fucking won. Trans rights are a winning issue. www.reddit.com/r/transgende...

@joshturek4iowa.bsky.social I can't express how disappointed I am in your abandonment of thectrans community. As a person reliant on federal protections for a medical condition you didn't choose, I expected empathy for mine. Please, do better for Iowa and for your fellow citizens.
@jamestalarico.bsky.social The science is clear that there is no meaningful difference in strength or speed between cis and trans women. Trans women have been in sports for decades. Are you proud to abandon our community because a plurality of voters want to strip away our rights oppress us?
The culture war is about what we consider to be unacceptable profanity. Is the F word sexual or a slur against LQB people? Do you feel more entitled to use scatalogical terms or the N word? Are you more bothered when someone says "Jesus" or "r*****?" We're defining what polite society will tolerate.
Somewhere, somehow, Lindsay Graham is standing at the end of a rainbow bridge, waiting for his Mee Maw. Y'old battle axe. Hoping for a Closer Look Back at his accomplishments, @salgentile.bsky.social
@yourewrongabout.bsky.social the JFK episodes are great. Just one thing, re Elvis and being an extra. After retiring, Steve McQueen would show anonymously to be an extra in motorcycle sequences. Was Elvis in Home Alone? No! Could a reclusive ex-star want to be an extra? There's precedent.

While that is a funny joke, gender affirming surgeries for trans people have a near zero regret rate, which is unheard of because even things like knee surgeries have higher regret rates. Most notably cis people getting gender affirming surgery, way higher regret rate than trans people.
To me, Chuck Norris will always be the guy who wrote a multi-efitorial endorsement of Newt Gingrich in 2012, including one in which he defines "America" and says Gingrich understands it best. An argument as well-constructed as his film plots. www.cnn.com/2012/02/06/s...
Sen. Mullin supports both refugee welfare programs and the violent assault of Sen. Paul? I may have to change my position on his nomination.
RAND PAUL: You offered no apology. And you offer no apology today, and no regrets MARKWAYNE MULLIN: I'm not apologizing for pointing out your character PAUL: You want people to know you supported a felonious, violent attack on me MULLIN: I did not say I supported it. I said I understood it.
Looks like Trump is trying to have his very own Bay of Pigs.
