π PINNED POST π
Hey, I'm Dazz. I've run The Spriters Resource for 2 decades+, a part of DidYouKnowGaming, and I try to support people making cool shit.
Kept away from posting on socials for a long time, but I think I'm back.
If you wish to support my work, I have a Ko-fi: ko-fi.com/tsrdazz
Just a heads up; lots of discussion online regarding Switch 2 reverse engineering. Data is cropping up, and models are being converted - however, we won't be accepting contributions for Switch 2 titles at this time.
This may be disappointing to some, but it's self preservation.
Someone posts a video showing reverse engineering of Switch 2
Now every 5 minutes I'm asked when Switch 2 models will be ripped
I love people's passion but can't hide how tiring it can be too. If it's not discussing AI for the 20th time a day, it's a repeated question I'm not qualified to answer.
Yesterday we celebrated getting to under 1,000 pending uploads for Models Resource. Over night, 600 new submissions with no icons, and another 400 to the other sites.
No matter how hard I fight the tide of this queue, it will never stop crashing and corroding the shores of my mind. I'm so tired.
The Suikoden II anime is actually better than I anticipated. Some deviation from the original that I like, some I'm curious as to why - but overall, faithful to the heart so far. Definitely recommended!
While it wasn't the greatest of games, Unlimited Saga on PS2 was so beautiful I reversed the animations to get them viewable for all, without having to slog through the less beautiful gameplay...

I'm so sick of Cloudflare checking I'm a human on every site. A necessary thing now for the internet to function because of AI scraping.
I can't express how much stress, energy and effort goes into just keeping a server from setting on fire because one AI wants to click every fucking link it sees.
Pretty productive week! Huge steps on a new site for the Spriters Resource network, wrote a script for DYKG, applied for a quiz show (looking likely too!) and I even slept for a few minutes.
Can't wait to actually show people any of it.
Oh cool, optional content forced on my phone that I actively don't fucking want. I'd rather keep security vulnerabilities than give a bullshit metric that arbitrarily inflates a transphobe's reach.
I swear there's some agenda that keeps pushing HP on everyone, don't see that shit for anything else.
Plenty of other franchises they could force on people that don't have contentious people involved, or better yet, not push optional content I would have downloaded if I wanted it.
Where's the forced Discworld theme?
It sucks that people are so well versed to see AI art, but it seems nobody knows the telltale signs of AI web design... But it screams at me.
I see countless people making the exact same design web tool to reverse engineer game data every week, and anti-AI folks don't seem to notice.
We're a few hours into Orbitals and I'm wondering when it gets as good as people say... So far it has been rather predictable, and hasn't really done anything new or interesting.
Looks great, though feels a lil inauthentic in aesthetic, padded out and has no new ideas...
Some of you may remember I was working on a new website concept a couple years ago but faced some trouble with the immense volume of storage it would take.
I may have come across a reliable solution that would make this much more feasible - will be working on it in my spare time. It's looking good.
Lately, running Spriters Resource (plus subsites) has become a full time operation. We're getting so many submissions, and because of a manually processed queue, I seem to have to spend 40-50 hours a week dealing with them.
It's becoming an issue, as I try to do more that actually feeds me.
I need to find a solution because the weight of thousands of submissions each week is becoming too much to handle on top of trying to work on DidYouKnowGaming, and further anything of my own projects. I hoped ko-fi would help ease the financial strain, but I've received very little support there.
DYKG was invited to make a live quiz show for Gamescom 2026, so we pit members of @giantbomb.com, @nintendolife.com and @gvg.io against each other to see who knew gaming.

Fashion label "Peace and After" is raffling the chance to buy one of 8 one-of-a-kind Live A Live art canvases to celebrate the game's 32nd anniversary. They are hand-painted (by who is unclear) and signed by Director @Takashi_Tokita. Price is Β₯88,000.

Saw an Instagram reel about someone having ripped all the models from Katamari Damacy, but they didn't extract the rigging; so I ripped everything and categorised it by the in-game collections.

Auf Wiedersehen, Gamescom!
We had an amazing time. So excited to come back again (maybe next year??)
It was an overwhelming pleasure to meet so many amazing people, and to have such stunning guests join us for our show. We are honoured to have been given the space.
The Spriters Resource will be at Gamescom all week - keep your eyes open for the ludicrously red t-shirt!
Dazz will also be hosting a DidYouKnowGaming quiz on the main stage - Thursday, 2pm!

I did a little procedurally looping display for Second Saturday. Hundreds of characters taken from The Spriters Resource to mimic the crowds walking through the hallway tonight. :)
Wheels are in motion for DidYouKnowGaming's big quiz at Gamescom!
Discussions being had to livestream the event so you can catch it live too - exciting times!
Frequently feels like Spriters Resource is the only space I have now not corrupted by shit AI artwork, depressing af news, and divisive conversations around basic human rights.
I don't know if it's entirely my doing, but I assume my ownership of it and not being a massive twat has helped.

I can't even go to a restaurant without being subjected to AI generated images of something that bears a likeness to the food they literally make and sell in the same building. It's literally in front of you, just take a fucking picture.

Pixeling more enemies for Vikings on Trampolines. Needed an enemy that could pop the balloons you're standing on. Like... a bird, that carries a saw. A Saw-Bird. Man... I made that beak real floppy.

Making new enemy sprites for Vikings on Trampolines. The temp-sketch for the Blimpolini is a large balloon that acts as temporary platform, but its also mindlessly carrying a bomb, so you need to pop it before it blows up. I added a bit of a subtle fish-theme as well
