I love that the meme film make SO much more. ๐Ÿ˜‚

ToonHive@toonhive.bsky.social

Chinaโ€™s first AI-generated theatrical film, โ€˜Sanxingdui: Future Pastโ€™, has bombed at their domestic box office, only making $121,000 USD against a budget of $1.5M USD. In contrast, the crudely animated โ€˜Niu Laiโ€™ made nearly $10M USD against a budget of $200-500 USD.

Next week, I'll be able to make videos and stream again. I think, I'll focus mostly on videos. Be it long-form or shorts. Just to get back into the flow of things. Yet, on Nov 3rd and 4th, I will stream. Especially, the 4th. Since it'll be a b-day stream. Should be fun.

Made the mistake of opening up the Temu app. That has to be, one of those most obnoxious front ends ever. You win a prize! Spin this wheel! Unlock the code! Flip a coin! Pick a prize! Like, rapid fire non-stop. I couldn't even skip through some of them. What in the world!?

When I read some online gaming discourse, I'm reminded that people legit think game dev is like this commercial, and just shake my head.

How some folks think video games are developed. ๐Ÿ˜‚

On Nov 3rd, I'll be free for a few months to stream and make videos! Stream on Nov 3rd and birthday stream on Nov 4th! Update on my YouTube Channels! Linktree in bio! - "DBFig Gaming" will focus on newer Indie, Adventure, and RPG games! - "DBFig Retro" is all retro gaming!

When people think Bioware they think Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and KOTOR. I love those too but the Baldur's Gate series are the first games that come to mind for me. ๐Ÿ’” I'm just happy, Larian Studios, did such a great job with BG3. Thank you Bioware, for the great memories. #gaming

Neat. Temu actually was useful for once. They literally had the TTRPG game, DaggerHeart for only $6. The full core package. Couldn't pass up on that price.

Decided what to do with the 2nd channel. I love retro gaming. So, turned into a retro gaming channel. That way all my new game coverage can be on the main channel, and I have this for retro stuff. VODS, Shorts, and Stream VODs of retro games go here. Feels like a good move.

I remember playing Hero Quest as a young teen in the 90s. I legit thought it was a relic of the past. Yet, not only can you buy the board game again, they just announced a Steam version coming soon. #gaming ๐ŸŽฒ Wishlist: balor.gg/hqdeSTEAM

I love when I get paid collaboration emails, that obviously are just spammed out. I just got one and had to laugh. 1. I'm on hiatus. Been for a bit. I'll be back next month. 2. They were so lazy, they start the email saying "Hi" to the wrong channel. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I cannot express how much I miss making videos and streams. Yet, in a month I can do some basic stuff for a few months. Yet, if it takes another year, I'm sure to be back. I never planned to "blow up" or that stuff. I just wanted to create something and showcase what I enjoy.

The fact that we can open our console/pc and play a game with people, is amazing. I legit remember driving 40 minutes to an arcade, just to play Marvel vs Capcom 2, against people. That arcade was awesome. Never will get that feeling again. Amazing memories.

My funniest arcade story came from there. Two guys playing MvC2. One was notorious for raging. He got stomped. He was so mad, he sprinted out the arcade. Then ran back in, jumped off a Time Crisis 2 machine, and WWE dropped kick the dude that won. Then ran out again. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Played a couple matches yesterday. Yeah, so much has changed. Have to completely adjust how I play. This game has so much personality now. It legit feels like you're fighting on the streets. Especially, on Broadway.

The huge Deadlock update "City Never Sleeps" is now out. A LOT has changed. You can read all about it here: www.playdeadlock.com/cityneversle... It's basically a totally revamped map, new mobs, new UI, new...everything. Plus, 6 new heroes are coming. #gaming

Weighed myself yesterday. Been up/down but that happens. Yet, overall, down almost 60 now. Still a ways to go. Yet, aiming for at least 30 more by Summer. Yet, this 30 will be the real deal weight. The one that'll be harder to lose than the 60. Yet, I'll get it done.

Always remember, the vast amount of angry discourse you see online, comes from very few. That are likely profiting from it. Most "issues" are ignorable. Most consistent trolls are bots. Most said online doesn't equate to real life. So, enjoy things, and control your happiness.

So I need to hire someone to redesign my site and make it more about my company and less about my work. Any strong suggestions for an indie web designer who doesn't charge a lot?

I wish I had time to play D&D again. I simply don't. Not even a one-shot. Hopefully, in a year or so, I can be in a position to play again. I won all these digital books. I'd like to use them at some point.

People know I love retro games. Then wonder why I don't collect them. This is why. The retro scene is so overpriced. Zoom in on the image and look at the prices. Sonic Adventure 2 for $192!? Zelda for $54. Xenogears for$250. ๐Ÿคฎ

I've been more interested in seeing the reveal of the latest Indie or AA game, than most AAA games, the last few years. Not to say, I'll never be interested in AAA games. That'll be silly. It's just that Indie/AA has given me more positive experiences lately.

So many ways to make games these days. Unreal, Unity, GODOT, RPGMaker, Gamemaker, and more. Yet, one of the first "create you own game" tools, is long forgotten. It was simple but fun to mess with.

Always remember, if you enjoy a game that other don't, doesn't mean you're wrong. Just means it fits what you want at the moment. The opposite is also true. Online chatter, in the end, is just banter from strangers. What you like/don't like, is up to you. The rest, is noise.

There's sadly a lot of entitlement in the Creator space. As you grow, you get opportunities. Yet, opportunities aren't guarantees. A ton of factors come into play for getting a key or invite to an event. How you take an occasional denial, can reflect future business dealings.

In the Gaming Creator space, there are so many opportunities now. WAY more than when I started. Creators have direct access to request keys, and even get invited to events. Plus ways to earn. It used to be that you had to be HUGE to get any notice. Awesome how far it has come.

You know what game series deserves a remaster and release on PC? Dark Cloud. No need for a full remake, just a nice graphical clean up and some QOL features, and I would be happy. #gaming

Great game, solid remaster, and will make you rage quit at some point. Cause, it hates you. ๐Ÿ˜‚
