The Pentagon just kicked off an initiative called FORTRESS, short for Federal Operations for Resilience, Troop Resources, Energy, Supply, and Survivability. It orders all military bases to be self-sufficient for at least 90 days. I’m doing the same thing!

Last weekend I went to the dedication ceremony of Desert Shield - Desert Storm Memorial. There was a long list of dignitaries there including representatives from the State of Kuwait. Surprisingly (or not surprisingly) Saudi Arabia wasn’t mentioned once. Let that sink in for a minute.
