I know the vast majority of you are here because of my art, but I need to share a thread about Brazilian politics because what we achieved today deserves to be mentioned and celebrated I'll do my best to be objective for those who have no idea what was happening

and the result? Lula won. 51,76% we fought against Meta, we fought against corrupt officials, corrupt mayors, we fought against the far-right and we won democratically we were in a severe disadvantage and we won

I'm sharing this (very long) thread for two reasons: 1. a real life example of how mobilized and determined population CAN change the tide against all odds 2. Trump and Flávio will very likely attempt something soon; stay tuned, because we might need help.

using the same groups and channels created for our communication, the people coordinated lifts, transportation, money for tickets, anything to LET EVERYONE VOTE

we witnessed Brazilians traveling and coming back to save our democracy; we witnessed the elderly who didn't for decades trying to make a difference; we witnessed teenagers who don't legally need to vote but wanted to anyway. it was the biggest turnout in our democracy.

in parallel to social media, we took it to the streets massive protests in favor of Lula throughout the country inviting people to join the cause and vote; vote for our democracy, vote for our sovereignty, vote for our rights at risk millions of people flooding capitals weekend after weekend

today, on our second turn of elections, we faced even more adversity: public transport was illegally held back in many cities; airlines "mysteriously" went under maintenance, hindering thousands of potential voters. and again, the people united.

we understood the algorithm and through a WhatsApp channel we coordinated how to wreck it in our favor. regain visibility for our cause. people ~needed~ to know what was at stake if Flávio won

it slowly started working. people coordinated hashtags, comments, decided which videos were relevant, how and what to post. we needed to talk especially to the absent people, the ones who thought politics wasn't for them or that their vote wouldn't make a difference

as if things couldn't be worse, Meta (yes, the company) openly meddled in Lula's social media campaign to reduce its visibility. that's of course because we know Zuckerberg is also interested in the big share of the Brazilian pizza and it's easier to get it if Flávio is president

the thing is: Lula is the greatest name in the working class. He brought us quality of life, he eradicated hunger in our country because of his politics. we wouldn't go down without a fight. so the working class and the left organized.

it's important to point out how Brazil is divided between the working class, the snob middle class (elitists) and the elites. Lula's politics have always caused great resentment in the snob middle/elites for improving the lives of the working class

Flávio knows about this resentment and uses it to his advantage in the campaign supporting him are of course the rich and the snobs who think they're rich they don't care if Brazil is sold to Trump because most of them actually admire the American Way of Life (via cultural imperialism)

Flávio was already involved in many corruption scandals and the Federal Police was on his track; if he's elected, he controls the Police and never risks going to jail, like his father. so naturally, he MUST win. and that's when the story becomes exciting

Lula lost on the first turn of the elections but by a small margin, qualifying a second turn Lula was 2% behind, roughly 4 million voters. Flávio and his allies were already celebrating and hinting at what would happen in our country after the second turn

Trump already took control of Venezuela for its oil and has his other puppet, Milei sinking Argentina. Brazil is the largest democracy in South America and also its biggest economy; having control over it would be very significant to keep the AI bubble alive and steady the race against China

the Bolsonaros know how important Brazil is to the US and, in their desperate attempt to escape prison, they try to bargain their own country to Trump in exchange for leadership

Jair was an ally to Trump and following his example attempted a coup in 2023 after losing the elections (also against Lula). he went to trial and was arrested last year. Flávio swore in his campaign to free his father and pardon all involved in the attempted coup

this is relevant to Mr. Orange Man. you see, Brazil is the second largest source of minerals and rare earths, the first being... yep. China. these materials are essential to create advanced technology. Brazil is also rich in water and land, which is perfect for data centers

we had elections today. Lula, our thrice former president, famous for important social and economic development and greatly improving the lives of the working class vs Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of Jair Bolsonaro and famous for being a "moderate" far-right Trump bootlicker
