Exclusive: The Armed Forces of Ukraine recently received their eleventh IRIS-T SLM fire unit financed by the German government as part of its military assistance for Ukraine. This represents a significant boost to Ukraine’s air defences ahead of winter. 🔗 deaidua.org/news/2026/10...

For a second time this month, Germany’s Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) has handed over a modern firefighting vehicle with a ladder and rotating platform to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast to assist in rescue operations after Russian attacks.

The Klesiv Settlement Territorial Community received four high-power diesel generators from the German-Ukrainian association Blau-Gelbes-Kreuz e.V. The generators will be handed over to educational and medical institutions in the region.

Today, Ukraine's 11th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade has shared new footage of at least two IRIS-T SLM fire units in their service. Shown were two IRIS-T SLM launchers and one IRIS-T SLS launcher, the latter of which has 33 Shahed/Geran interceptions painted on. /164

The 2nd Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 59th Assault Brigade has shared new images of a Vector UAV in service with their battalion. The German government alone has officially delivered ~700 Vector UAVs to Ukraine until 2025, whilst it can safely be assumed that further contracts were funded. /163

To date, Germany has delivered 11 IRIS-T SLM fire units to Ukraine, each (so far) including three IRIS-T SLM launchers, two IRIS-T SLS launchers, a TRML-4D air surveillance radar and a TOC. They are supplemented by support elements such as a workshop, spare parts, reloading and logistical vehicles.

If these numbers persist, Germany is on track to become the largest supplier of Patriot ammunition to Ukraine, solely through the PAC-2 GEM-T production being launched in Germany. Additional funding via PURL and JUMPSTART clearly underlines this development.

⚡ Ukraine received only 24 Patriot air defense missiles from the US over the last 90 days, President Zelenskyy revealed. He stressed that Washington is withholding authorization for missile shipments, despite the munitions being largely financed by European allies.

Most recently, in June 2026, Germany provided funding for PAC-3 missiles worth $200 million via JUMPSTART and for additional missiles for air defence systems via PURL, also amounting to $200 million.

In addition to this, it is also to be expected that small batches of PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles (single to low double-digits) will be supplied from Bundeswehr stocks from time to time, as has been the case on several occasions this year.

Germany already placed an order for 600 PAC-2 GEM-T missiles for Ukraine to be manufactured at the factory opening in Germany, at a cost of €3.2 billion. These are due to be delivered between 2027 and 2031, i.e. an average of 120 per year (although deliveries will, of course, start off more slowly).

In addition, Germany continues to provide regular funding for the purchase of additional Patriot ammunition, in particular US-manufactured PAC-3 missiles, via PURL and JUMPSTART.

Ahead of the winter, the German government has financed a total of six generator sets and 132 individual generators for the Poltava region. Some have already been handed over to local communities, healthcare facilities, educational institutions and social support organisations.

The German government has financed and delivered another at least three Peugeot pickup trucks, two pickup trucks from an unknown brand, two Mercedes-Benz minivans and three Fiat vans for the State Security Administration of Ukraine.

🧵 — As US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent clearly has absolutely no idea what he is talking about and asks “Where is Germany?” when it comes to the supply of Patriot fire units and missiles to Ukraine, I thought this might be a good time for an educational thread.

🧵 — So please don't ask what Germany is doing for Ukraine. We do more for Ukraine then anybody else, including the US. All you do now is getting paid billions for the bare minimum.

🧵 — PS: For full transparency it must be noted that multiple nations like Denmark, Lithuania and Norway above all have supported Germany financially in the delivery or re-procurement of MIM-104 Patriot fire units and missiles.

🧵 — As recently as June 2026, Germany spent a total of $200 million on PAC-3 missiles via JUMPSTART and another $200 million on various missiles via PURL. Total donations already exceed $1 billion.

🧵 — And now to the final and biggest part: In April 2026, Germany announced an enormous missile package for Ukraine. Over the following years, Germany will spend €3.2 billion to finance 600 PAC-2 GEM-T missiles for Ukraine's MIM-104 Patriot fire units — made in Germany by the way.

🧵 — After weeks-long negotiations, 30+ were actually donated as a result of the German initiative. Germany was also — on the highest levels — in talks with Spain and Greece for the delivery of additional missiles.

🧵 — But of course, we are doing things beyond. A lot of things. As already mentioned, Germany is actively funding Patriot missiles from the US both via JUMPSTART and via PURL. You shouldn't forget Mr. Secretary, that we are paying you for this.

🧵 — But what about what's happening now? Germany has shown multiple times since President Trump took office that it is leading in the organisation, funding and delivery of new ammunition for Ukraine's MIM-104 Patriot fire units.

🧵 — The German government has multiple times organized or tried to organize new deliveries for Ukraine. For example, in February 2026, Germany was in talks with multiple nations to find a total of 35 PAC-3 missiles for Ukraine.

🧵 — In February 2025, before the delivery of the last two MIM-104 Patriot fire units took place, before various donations via PURL and JUMPSTART took place and before Germany made several smaller missile deliveries from its own stocks...

🧵 — ...the German MoD confirmed to have delivered 328 Patriot missiles of various versions. By now the number of Patriot missiles already financed and delivered should exceed 500 easily.

🧵 — Let's now talk about missiles. Together with every fire unit, Germany also donated a missile package. Known donations included for example 100 missiles and 64 missiles. That's substantial, but of course, this only guaranteed the immediate operational readiness of said fire units, nothing else.

🧵 — We didn’t have our own production facilities and our stocks weren’t even remotely as well-stocked as those in the US. The US (led by Biden) actually kept those fire units alive.

🧵 — About half of Ukraine's MIM-104 Patriot fire units came from Bundeswehr stocks. A total of five fully equipped MIM-104 Patriot fire units were supplied from Bundeswehr stocks between 2023 and 2025 alongside a few extra launchers and most likely a spare radar unit.

🧵 — Germany began donating Patriot related equipment to Ukraine at the same time the US has and still does it until this day while the US has long stopped donating this to Ukraine.

🧵 — Let's first talk about the supply of fire units and afterwards about the supply of missiles. Germany, Mr. Secretary, has in fact supplied more MIM-104 Patriot fire units to Ukraine than the US has, despite owning and operating only a fraction of what the US owns and operates.

Just minutes ago, Ukraine's Air Command West has published the story of Denis, a commander of one of the IRIS-T SLM launchers likely belonging to a fire unit from the 223rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade and also shared statistics.

After switching from the British-supplied Raven system to the German-supplied IRIS-T SLM in most likely 2025, in his first night he and his crew intercepted three cruise missiles and five OWA UAVs.

In total, his unit has successfully intercepted over 50 aerial targets to date, consisting of mainly cruise missiles and jet-powered drones.

The 2nd Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 59th Assault Brigade has shared new images of a Vector UAV in service with their battalion. Ukraine's 223rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment has just published the so far biggest collection of never seen IRIS-T SLS interceptions including some TRML-4D footage and also published the latest statistics (see post below). /162

Ukrainian units are also able to procure this UAV via the Brave1 Market, based on whose procurement figures the drone was awarded third place for ISR systems at the Army of Drones 2025 event in early 2026.

Germany’s Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) has carried out a delivery of numerous specialized vehicles and equipment worth nearly €1.5 million to the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The Novooleksandrivka community received a firefighting vehicle. Kamyanske's municipal services received a lorry. A bulldozer, a motor grader, a minibus and a high-power generator were provided to one of the critical infrastructure enterprises in the region.

PS: They don't specifically write that these are only IRIS-T SLS statistics, but it can be safely assumed, as its way to low to be representing all fire units deployed by them, which then also includes three IRIS-T SLM launchers (so far) per fire unit.

Also, one should take into account that they have exclusively shown IRIS-T SLS footage, and they are intercepting far to many drones to have included IRIS-T SLM interceptions.

IIRC this is not only the biggest collection of IRIS-T SLS interceptions (including some rare footage of TRML-4D radars), but also the first time we have detailed statistics on the IRIS-T SLS launchers.

The ratio of “drone interception” to “cruise missile interception” within this regiment appears to be around 50% for the more affordable and widely available IRIS-T SLS missiles.

With their IRIS-T SLS launchers (so far two in each fire unit), they have intercepted: — 19 X-101 cruise missiles — 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles — 4 S8000 Banderol cruise missiles — 6 Shahed-136 drones — 23 not closer described OWA UAVs

The German-Ukrainian association @ua-de.info has just begun delivering a new shipment of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including ~775 kg of animal feed, ~363 kg of sanitary and hygiene products, ~751 kg of medical supplies, as well as equipment, ~122 kg of firefighting equipment and much more.

Various Ukrainian air defence brigades and regiments have today, on the Day of the Logistics Forces, published rare footage showing German-delivered military equipment, which I have compiled for you. /160

Germany has confirmed delivered 52 Gepard SPAAGs to Ukraine alongside another 8 Cheetah SPAAGs. 7 additional Cheetah SPAAGs are pledged until this day, although it can be safely assumed that all have been delivered.

Given that Germany is funding a “significant portion” of the Starlink network in Ukraine, I inquired with both the German MoD and the Federal Foreign Office about the current situation with Starlink/Starshield.

A MoD spokesperson only told me that they did not wish to comment on the Ukrainian claims, and would also decline to comment whether they are in touch with the governments in Kyiv and Washington, or with SpaceX, regarding finding a solution to the situation.

Due to difficulties beyond our control everything was delayed a lot, but the utility trailer we funded together for the 508 Repair and Restoration Battalion finally arrived! It will now help them to move more quickly & efficiently near the frontline area & I know they are truly grateful for that.

Thank you very much to everyone involved! Of course to those who participated and donated some of their hard-earned money, but also to those who just liked or retweeted the fundraiser. Special thanks to @libertyukraine.bsky.social without whom this wouldn't have been possible. You are awesome!

Germany’s Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) has handed over two firefighting vehicles to the city of Mykolaiv. A third firefighting vehicle has also been hand over, which will be used in the surrounding region.

The German government has financed (at least) eight Peugeot Landtrek pickup trucks for the 22nd Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. The vehicles will (likely) be distributed within the 22nd Brigade's drone interception units.
