I kinda naively let myself get sucked into generating music to see how my lyrics would sound in context, but decided I would kick that bad habit and just release the lyrics with some photos as a poetry book instead of polluting the musical ecosystem with slop.

I feel like 25% of the reposts are Where the Red Fern Grows... am I the only one who was annoyed by this book rather than traumatized by it? I found it stifling and never really connected with the characters. Like I get WHY people were messed up by it but for whatever reason I was immune to it.

This has been a huge year for me in terms of experimentation. I'm not really pushing myself to "make it" out there, just enjoying the process of making. I made my own oak gall ink this week. Carved a limestone statuette. Working on a fursuit for the kid. Acquired a pile of pen pals.

I harvested clay from soil and fired the finished product in a BBQ. Leaned into collage art for the first time in my life. Kinda feels like I could do anything at this point.

This idea is somehow helping me out a lot. Whenever I see lists of sales and deals on stuff I'd hypothetically like but don't need, I make a point to take a big sigh of relief and say "ah, thank god I don't have to do any of that shit".

In Legend of Mana (1999), one of the regions you can visit is a junkyard full of broken toys full of trauma from a war they fought. Talking to them will give you haunting dialogue like this. The game hints at deeper lore about this that it never fully explains. The whole game is like this.
