This is it. Bold and decisive action on the right policies is what we need and want. We are more progressive generally. Be sure and assertive. Make the case to the people and show how investments pay off. Adapt and amend if necessary but don’t twist in the wind.

Stewart Prest@stewartprest.ca

If true, lessons for the NDP are fourfold: 1. don't short circuit leadership races. 2. Figure out what the right policy is, and push it through. 3. Make sure you find ways to convincingly tell the story of those changes. 4. Don't make it all about polarizing partisan politics. Voters HATE that.

…/ tell the women in your life why you’re helping elect a govt that doesn’t want them to have choice and access to care. Tell Indigenous people why you don’t care about reconciliation. Tell your children why climate change is irrelevant. Tell poor people why they should keep suffering.

The only option on the ballot is who is going to win a first past the post election. As much as I hate it, pro-rep is NOT on the ballot. A vote to send Eby a message is a vote to put the B.C. Cons in a majority. That will deeply harm the most vulnerable people for years. Block the Cons.

That 'scare' should be strong enough before voting in THIS election. Vote splitting in the federal election would have put us into the hands of right wing politicians who were more than allied with Trump and his crew. British Columbians already know the dangers of a Con govt ... vote accordingly. 🙏

Eby was trying to gain a comfortable majority so that NDP could get more done as Government. It's not a "fault" to call an election when an Opposition is in total chaos & floundering between leaders. It WILL BE our fault - as voters - if we fail to recognize what awaits our province under Cons.

The only chance we have of ever getting electoral reform is to avoid a Cons majority that’s. Have to keep our powder dry this time.

We are going to reverse all of this to “teach Eby a lesson”.

As we face the prospect of the biggest political own goal in history, here's 11 good things the NDP did on housing. 🧵

Not voting for the progressive candidate in your riding who can win means a vote for the regressive Cons.

Maureen Elbows Up! 🍁@maureenyost.bsky.social

So, you're going to punch yourself in the nose to teach them a lesson. Maybe your rich? That's going to hurt a lot of poor vulnerable people. New residents will have to pay $7500 a year for medical coverage. Addicted people will be locked up and safe supply ended completely. DRIPA will be torn up.

If we all say we didn’t want this election, and we wanted the NDP to serve another 2 years, then why are we not electing them? It’s on us. Tell all your friends with Trans kids why you’re voting for a Con majority that will strip away their safety and health care. …/

GC Stewart Phillip has endorsed Emily Lowan in Saanich North AND endorsed some NDP candidates. David Eby is done, as he will not get the big majority he seeks. Vote strategically. Campaign strategically. Hope for a minority NDP government (without Eby) requiring Green support. #bcpoli #yyj

You can say this is Eby’s fault . Hey he called the election. But WE vote and get to decide the outcome and have to own the fallout. #bcpoli

This means NDP supporters voting Green in about couple of key ridings to make sure they are there to hold the balance of power. AND Green supporters understanding that we get NO CHANCE of having influence if we don’t elect NDP on the south and mid Island and southern Interior. #bcgreens #bcpoli

I desperately want what the Greens are aspiring to. Sadly, voting Green in 10 - 12 ridings where NDP are just points shy of the Cons will mean never getting anywhere close. Cons will cancel SOGI, gut public health, cut social housing spending, maintain low taxes on rich, slash environmental regs../

It’s who they are.

✨ Big news, Victoria! I am officially running for re-election to Victoria City Council, and throwing my hat in the ring for the CRD Board to tackle regional housing, homelessness & transit. Thanks to you, we fulfilled all the 2022 campaign promises my team made. Let’s keep moving forward! (1/3)

Remember this picture, & others like it, every time you hear someone in your city say "we're not Amsterdam." This was #Amsterdam in the 1970s. Many of the cities we admire made tough choices regarding cars in the past, and are still making better choices today. Better choices instead of excuses.

And can we point out that building density in cities protects existing INTACT forest ecosystems by delaying or preventing further suburban sprawl?

Brent Toderian@brenttoderian.bsky.social

Enough with the FALSE CHOICE between increasing infill density or increasing the urban tree canopy. BOTH are not only possible, but absolutely necessary. Good design is the key. The real design challenge isn’t building density or the space needed for trees… it’s the space we still surrender to cars.
