It’s hard to be back here in this position again. I want to share this about my mother, who passed away. Her life as a working-class immigrant mother tells an American story that feels unimaginable now.

It's been 1 year since my father passed. I originally shared these thoughts back on the old site, but thought I'd share it here today with many new faces on this much kinder app My father passed away on Nov 24, 2023. His life epitomized the American Dream—a dream that often seems elusive today. 🧵

I've seen enough insubordination from both DSA locals and the NPC. Something must be done. I'll be organizing to introduce a resolution at the next DSA convention that we adopt The Chicago Manual of Style. We must put an end to this typographical heresy.

I have thoughts on the whole DSA NPC & Nithya Raman situation. But the most pressing issue is that DSA needs a national style guide. Arial? Mismatched bullets? Different margins & spacing on every page? Comrades, please, someone hire an editor.

If Colorado Dems flip 3 seats next month: Jessica Killin (CO-5) & Dwayne Romero (CO-3) can be moderates. Whatever. Manny (CO-8) better act like a populist, but he's getting a primary regardless. Neguse, Pettersen, Crow: move left or get primaried in 2028 imo

Punishing an entire people for what a few did is how we got Iraq and Afghanistan after 9/11. Gaza is the same story, and I said so on The Jeff Hunt Show on 710 KNUS. Democrats, the voters are already there. Why aren’t you?

Poncho Espino of the Party for Socialism & Liberation (PSL), a different socialist party than DSA, is running for Denver City Council District 9! PSL is MUCH smaller than DSA, but they collaborate sometimes. Will be a fascinating race for the future of the Denver Left.

Poncho is a long time organizer and well respected. With him jumping in the race, the likely DSA recruits for D9 will likely not run. I know PSL and DSA have beef in other cities, but in Denver I hope we can a model for cross party solidarity and collaboration.

Trump is more unpopular today than he was in 2018, the year Republicans lost the House by 40 seats. I joined Newsmax’s First Edition to make the case that the only question left is how big the Democratic majority gets.

Gabe Evans and Manny Rutinel have basically the same answer on Israel: both support continued funding with no conditions. For anyone just tuning in to Manny, that's a complete 180 from what he believed just a few years ago.

Just 13 days left to vote! Check out our 2026 Colorado/Denver Ballot Guide Grid that puts endorsements and guides from across the political spectrum side by side, all in one place. Get informed and make your vote count!

As a Punjabi American, it warms my heart every year to see all the Garba videos during Navratri from my Gujarati American friends. What a vibrant, rich culture we all bring to this melting pot 🩷

How many AI checks and two-factor texts are y'all getting a day? It feels like I'm at 15+ a day At this point my phone is just a slot machine that pays out six-digit numbers to make sure I'm not a robot

I don't understand this timing. Sarah Parady was a DSA councilwoman & I believe DSA folks would've taken her endorsement as a signal of who to back. But she stayed silent until just now, so most of the Left already lined up behind Mejia, who honestly isn't as left as Parady.

Honestly, this is why Denver desperately needs Ranked Choice Voting. People could rank their actual preferences instead of treating this as a center-left vs. center-right choice between Melissa Mejia and Monica Martinez. Local politics is so strange sometimes.

We asked Governor Polis why he opposes the Graduated Income Tax (that we support!) 97% of Coloradans would pay less, and it raises $2 billion a year for schools and health care. Full conversation on Left in the Attic, wherever you get your podcasts!

My annual Colorado Ballot Guide Grid is out! (Now on Left In the Attic's website) With 20+ ballot questions, it helps to see where every person and org stands in one place. Spot where groups agree, split, and match your values. Want someone added? DM or comment!

Colorado Governor Jared Polis joined us on the Left in the Attic podcast to talk education, housing, venues canceling Macklemore and Melat's rally with Hasan Piker, the graduated income tax, ballot questions, Tina Peters and more! Check it out wherever you find podcasts!
