Tales of a community pharmacist. Yesterday, a person was going to introduce me to my brother. Today: weird quantity on an S8 script, had to call doc. Person who purchased wegovy yesterday came in and told me there's no needle. there is, of course, i removed the cap.

It turns out, most people don't think you're nosey in asking questions about their health, they actually thank you for caring.

Just had a hero of a customer remove a weird black stick insect thingy from the dispensary without killing it. I could have done it but she offered and I have already killed a roach today

Just had a lovely woman in for a copper iud (yes we still do them, and yes I am the only pharmacy in this town who has them in stock) The script didn't help at all for me to select the correct one. There are two different shapes with two different durations as well as sizes.

This should all be a conversation that the patient has with the doctor and/or I have with the doctor but they are at a clinic that is NOT contactable. Which is a huge problem and thankfully I don't have to deal with them much at all. So I explained a heap of stuff and why I made the selection.

The lady was so sweet too as she said that I was being very maternal to her and she felt safe. Which made my heart explode and also I was treating her with the respect that she is due as the owner of her body. #pharmacylife

I think that I have always known that there was something different and special (bad special not good special) about my brain. Turns out it's probably autism

When I was at uni the first time between 1996-1999, we had a ball. Afterwards once we had left another friend of mine was still there and he saw one of the other girls who were in the degree sitting outside the venue on the kerb, quite drunk. Her other friends had just left her there.

He showed the common decency that I would expect of everyone. Yet, it seems to be extremely uncommon. No idea why this story popped into my head almost 30 years later.

The sad thing is is that we lost touch after that degree finished, and in those days it was near impossible to find someone! I have tried and tried but his name is too common, and the world is too large

My friend took her back to his place, put her in his bed and slept on the couch. He was quite a lovely person (which is why I was friends with him) the next morning made sure she got home safe and sound. Took her back to his place as she was too drunk and didn't know where she actually lived.

I'm watching (when I have a spare second) the WNBA finals, and it's so interesting to watch people dance when you can't hear the sound!

Husband this morning watching something on tiktok, to me: Hey can you please get me some Vitamin B6? Me: No way, cumulative B6 consumption can lead to permanent peripheral neuropathy! Him: ok, scrolls on. Wow people really do listen to anything online!

If there's one more thing that we learn about the people in the Epstein files, it's that all of the rich people hang out together. It's a conspiracy against the rest of us

wow, actual action

#BREAKING 🚨 Sydney says Riley Bice, Nick Blakey, Isaac Heeney, James Jordon and Chad Warner will not be considered for selection for the rest of 2026 The club says its actions are independent of the Victoria Police investigation into a report of an alleged sexual assault

Yesterday Miss 18 and I were waiting at the deli at Coles and another customer struck up a conversation with us. He lead with: Two sisters doing the shopping? Or something like that...This happens to me fairly commonly. I turned to my daughter and said: See! It happens for real!

We then asked him how old he thought I was (I am 47) he said 25-30 LOL He also thought Miss 18 was 22. So she was happy and sad. The moral of the story is to get your eyes checked

I'm just that person who can easily build rapport with people, I get along with almost everyone. So it's super jarring when I meet someone who I don't gel with. I find it very discombobulating

I was walking into work feeling a bit sorry for myself that I am not a millionaire and one of the receptionists just made me laugh so hard. Sadness forgotten

Dear Australians. Please stop ticking that you belong to a religion just because your parents held you over a font as an infant or sent you to religious classes as a child. Do you really want public money being directed to something you’ve never willingly participated in? #censusAU2026

Diabetic patient comes in, elderly with neuropathy in the fingertips which is causing issues with checking BGL. Luckily there are other sites available, and we used the mound on the hand. Worked well. That's a win for today!

I think that the antidote to all of the hate and rage that the media and socials give us is to go out into the community and see just how kind and nice that people can be

I think that part of why that horrible person speaks of immigrants in such a disgusting way is that she wants immigrants (my parents) and their children (me) to be scared and to not speak out. I will do the opposite, this is as much my freaking country as it is hers. She can get f'ed

When I was younger and had oodles of time, I was so fussy! I wouldn't eat cold food, I wouldn't eat many veggies, I was just such a pain in my parents butts! Now that I am time poor my standards have dropped so much!

I have a few books waiting for me to read them. But I want to savour them, there’s only one first time that you can read a book. Does this happen to anyone else?
