Scientists have their first proof that the ancestors of some mammals laid eggs, thanks to a 250-million-year-old fossil embryo discovered in South Africa in 2008. https://scim.ag/41E7C0p

Further confirmation that high AMH and AFC do not always mean oocyte quality. On the other hand, better ovarian reserve parameters could lead to higher number of mature oocytes, which is associated with higher live birth rates. Fertility is a delicate balance between quality and quantity!!!!!
How do biological factors affect IVF success? Bahman Afsari et al. analysed 1,736 cycles: maternal age is the strongest predictor of live birth, anti-Müllerian hormone and antral follicle count influence oocyte/embryo stages, and body mass index has limited impact. 🔗 doi.org/10.1530/RAF-...

Functional human eggs have been generated from skin cells in a proof-of-concept study in @natcomms.nature.com. The technique could offer a new path to treating infertility, though more research is needed before clinical use. #devbio www.nature.com/articles/s41...
