My heart and my prayers and everything else I got is with the families at Silver Rail Elementary.

You aren’t crazy. The reason you feel like your paycheck isn’t going as far is that it isn’t. Because of Trump’s chaotic tariffs and the Iran war, inflation has outpaced wage growth for 6 months in a row. While the price of everything else is going up, your wages can’t keep up.

Steve Rattner@steverattner.bsky.social

Real wages are shrinking year-over-year for the sixth month in a row. The Iran War brought an end to three years of real wage growth.

This raid follows a disturbing pattern of abusing the criminal justice system to seek retribution against political opponents. President Trump has repeatedly targeted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar with inflammatory rhetoric that has contributed to threats of violence against her.

Since Trump returned to office, Black unemployment has risen nearly a full percentage point. This Administration’s choices are having real world consequences on families’ ability to make ends meet and workers’ ability to receive equal pay for equal work.

Last night, I joined AFL-CIO President @LizShuler to honor the late, great Bill Spriggs Bill championed working people and economic justice. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those of us who had the opportunity to learn from and work with him over the years

Public dollars should fund public education. If just 20% of eligible donors participate in the voucher scheme, the cost to taxpayers would exceed all federal spending on Title I and IDEA combined. Imagine what we could do if we used this money to improve all of America’s public schools instead.

$500 right before the election won't help the 15 million people losing their insurance because of Medicaid cuts and expiring tax credits. And it won't come close to offsetting higher gas and other prices caused by an unnecessary war and chaotic tariffs.

We know DOGE had access to sensitive data. Yet, after more than a year of investigation and numerous accommodations, the Trump Administration still refuses to tell the public whether Musk did anything with Americans' data. The Administration should be accountable to the taxpayers, not Musk.

washingtonsun.comCongress’ Watchdog Arm Is Not Assured That DOGE Protected Americans’ DataSeveral federal agencies did not answer the congressional auditor’s questions about data security.

OpenAI's technology reportedly tried to hack the Education Department's website to access Civil Rights Office data. Musk's DOGE also tried to access students' data. Private data must stay private. These matters require real oversight and accountability.

A government watchdog found that ED stopped monitoring $27 billion in K-12 funding for low-income schools. Without oversight, taxpayer money is now at risk of waste, fraud, and abuse. Maybe, instead of dismantling ED, it should focus on doing its actual job. www.gao.gov/products/gao...

Why is the Republican answer to every problem the same? Kick people off their health insurance. Need to pay for billionaire tax cuts? Kick people off health insurance. Need to pretend to care about fraud while still attending Don Jr.'s wedding? Kick people off health insurance.

Breaking news: Vice President JD Vance is set to announce that the administration is removing hundreds of thousands of people from Affordable Care Act coverage, saying that they were fraudulently enrolled in the government health program.

When families need Head Start most, the Trump Administration is trying to rip it away.  Americans deserve better.   This morning, I joined advocates from @nwlc.org to rally to strengthen Head Start and make child care accessible for all.

The Trump administration is waging war on public education. Not on our watch. Today, I stood with AFGE, AFT, and NEA and the educators, staff, and students they serve. We are fighting to ensure every student can access a quality public education.

Trump's "solution" to the child care crisis is to reward "normal" married stay-at-home parents.    And he'd pay for it by taking money from a program that overwhelmingly helps single, working mothers afford child care.

The Trump administration is moving to allow married couples with a stay-at-home spouse to collect child care subsidies using funds from a federal program intended to assist working parents, according to people familiar with the plan. nyti.ms/3TiDA1A
