Anyone trying to come up with a new platform needs to answer the question of network effects. How are you going to incentivize people to use your platform over ones with established connections?

We never really "came back" from Covid. It was another nail in the neoliberal order, just as 2008 was before it.

I have no idea what to do with this Covid revisionism. It feels like the bad kind of group therapy where you help each other ignore facts. We don't have to go *that* far back in the social media timelines to prove how fucked up it was. We were so scared we were scrubbing eggs and baking the mail.

Man, I remember when we were constantly dissuaded from using Wikipedia as source but now academic institutions are encouraging AI use. Clearly it was never about the veracity, it was about money.

I hate this man so much, Just everything about him is such bumbling movie villain energy, but he's real and holds actual power. Fucking baffling the world is like this.

"Palantir CEO Alex Karp says his AI technology will lessen the power of “highly educated, often female voters, who vote mostly Democrat” while increasing the power of working-class men." Just saying it right out loud now. newrepublic.com/post/207693/...

Looking for the perfect mix of your old Disney fixation and a sky pirate JRPG. High Winds is the ttrpg that allows you to soar into the role of pirate of the vast skies. #ttrpg #crowdfunding #rpg #pirates #piraterpg #tabletoproleplaying

Most of my games cost less than $10. I’m even thinking of making some games free with monetized supplements.

TTRPGs are expensive. D&D is especially expensive. I think it's why TTRPGs have never truly gained mass appeal and remain niche. I think it's why the faces of the hobby are often white, middle class and above. Same goes for the people making games. It's the biggest barrier to entry in this hobby.

the past year or two have been a really stark illustration of "the people who oppose progress when the stakes seem relatively low are also completely useless in a life-or-death struggle against total fascist collapse"

I’ve made $600 bootstrapping my TTRPG business. Total. That’s not enough to cover a month’s worth of expenses. What gets left out of these narratives is that they had pre-existing capital and help.

Babes. I mean this with the utmost kindness and respect, but funding your own projects or monetizing your social following or „just go indie“ is really, REALLY hard. I have a partner that’s employed and we have no dependents and no dept, and I still can’t make it lol These cases are the 0.0000001%

I think the reason autistic unemployment has never been addressed is that doing so forces NTs to admit to themselves that they got to their position bc someone liked them. That their skills didn’t matter as much as they think they did.

DNC: We’re gonna form a think tank to get back the votes… Me: By going left toward policies like UBI, universal health care, and housing for all? DNC:…by going right! It’ll definitely work this time!

When politicians talk about keeping the children safe from "pornography", this is what they mean
