𝄞 ...Little man, you've had a busy day... 𝄞 #AssistanceDog Pierre, a 4 year old chocolate lab, snuggles & snoozes curled up in a nest he's made from two blankets on a blue sofa.

Massive thanks to everyone who came out today and supported the wonderful Ciara and her team at @_bri_films . These kinds of conversations are so important to have as we're all out and about minding ourselves and each other in work, and it's fantastic to see #Gifted

I messed up the ALT Description on image 3 - so sorry! It's a packet of collagen powder, a honey lip balm, and some hand cream.

so many colleagues so engaged and lit up for making change (social, practical and structural) in this industry community that we call home. Can't wait to see what grows from this! “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can,

My fella painted my nails. Close to, if not worse than childbirth! Worth it. Aft. 11mts (tom/rw) of swelling, I thought pretty was long gone. Still is, but smartish is doable, & at least I'm a cheap date: We finished that bottle - & if I'm only managing once/yr, the next will prob. do 20 years too

(Werner Herzog voice) when we go back and watch the episode, we are shocked that Mr bean only has the turkey stuck on his head for 2 minutes. We remember it as an eternity, because we know that the darkness Mr bean experiences inside that turkey is in some sense cosmic, infinite

Thank you to all our Irish Equity members to turned up to Dail Eireann yesterday. Some news from FIA conference in Avignon. At the FIA - International Federation of Actors yesterday, we held further discussions on AI and the protections that are available to performers to ensure that any use of

@bsky.app I know I've said it before, but it begs restating: Would you please adjust the placement of the 'Alt Text' button? It's *SO* important for access, and it's great that we have it, but where it is in the top left, if you have extensions such as Pinterest on there, you can't click on it.

A message from Gerry O'Brien, President Irish Equity: "Colleagues, Irish Equity will be joining in tomorrow’s public sector strike and will be present at Leinster House. I would ask every performer, union and non-union, to turn up and support our fellow union activists.

The wider arts sector Budget allocations for 2027 represent a failure of understanding & a failure of intent. The appalling decisions regarding the back-pedalling on Arts Council funding & the previously agreed funding for RTE, are the clearest indication yet 1 of ...

I have the honour of being one of only two Irish entries to have made it to the regional round of the 2026 World Monolgue Games, a competition described by the organisers as being the equivalent of the Olympics for Actors. The other entry is none other than my wife's, @dglaity.bsky.social 1/...

1. On 8 Sep Gerry O’Brien & Jessica Freed attended a Workers’ Forum in Leinster House, organised by #PeopleBeforeProfit. Their aim was to bring workers’ priorities into focus, coming up to the new Dáil term. Pt 1/12

Today is our Dad's anniversary, so I was in the garden. In a surprising 1-all-draw, did you know that: * Planting strong smelling herbs such as basil can deter hornets * Pissed-off hornets can get you twice bloody fast!

Irish Equity are deeply saddened at the passing of Julian Erskine. Julian’s career as a stage manager began in the 1970’s working with the major companies of the time when he was still in his teens. He was a consummate stage manager, stage director and production manager. 1 of 8

Irish Equity stands with our colleagues and fellow creatives on their day of action on Tuesday September 8th. It is deplorable that the Arts community in Northern Ireland are subject to such under investment. 🧵 1 of 17

That's @lawsocietyireland.bsky.social's #MOOC2026 done. Whoot! As ever lots to think on, vindication for the impending sense of dread, & a redoubling of resolve to never go near AI with a 12ft pole! Big thanks to Acc. Off. Jonathan, ably assisted (no pun intended) by Naomi, for all your help.

Irish Equity Summer Bulletin 2026 Welcome to Irish Equity’s Summer information bulletin. There has been an enormous amount of work undertaken by the President and members of the Executive in recent months, across multiple areas. 🧵 1 of 18

Just out from prep session for this, & I'll tell you: Folks SO experienced, expert, & fun in one room feels like it should be illegal! Next week will be an incredible experience - I've 6 pgs of notes of interesting things just from tonight alone. Tickets are at: www.eventbrite.ie/e/access-med...

eventbrite.ieAccess Media: Session #2 - Accessing Production SpacesBehind the camera matters too. Disabled writers, producers & crew discuss access and inclusion in Irish media production spaces.

In better news, I'm helping out some truly epic people later on this month. (Full disclosure: I'm replacing an equally epic as they are person, who sadly couldn't take part). Tickets are free and available on Eventbrite at: www.eventbrite.ie/e/access-med...

MRI was a bust. V.Expert Specialist lady & team tried for 2hrs, then called it as she was afraid of doing more damage "for nothing" as the images were unusable. Must've blacked out mid-way through as suddenly we were out and there were people. Part 1 of 3

Part 2 of 3 Nurse said the pain is evident on the imagery - about the only thing you can see with the blur. Said you see that kind of pain based shaking in combat veterans. One last chance: If we can sort going to Wales for a seated MRI in Cardiff. Given I couldn't stand up after, and everything

Part 3 of 3 seems stable with the eye after last night's craziness, we didn't go straight on to the specialist this afternoon. He'll see me locally on Monday (on the understanding if it changes in the meantime we go straight to A&E, do not pass go etc). Life is wild!

Suggestion for @bsky.app: Pls forgive me if I'm thinking too simple (IT is *not* my field), but... You know the ALT text button on posts? LOVE IT - a lot! ...but, could we please have it on the other side of the images? It's just that 1 of 2...

2 of 2... the bloody Pinterest thing, that pops in front of the ALT text button every time you move towards it and it's super hard to get past it for the ALT text button where it is now (esp if you have a dexi issue). Able to show someone what I mean on Zoom if that'll help? Thanks for listening

Suffice to say: Today's hospital was a *NOT* good experience. We came out with exactly a *0%* increase in knowledge to where we went in. No - thinking about it, that's a lie: We also learnt 2 things about this Doctor: Part 1 of 4

Part 3 of 4 2) That for this particular doctor, happening to have the temerity to show up in her office BOTH disabled AND under 50, is, in her view, something akin to being a criminal.

Part 4 of 4 - I'm fairly confident I could actually have walked in there, clutching a knife and coated in someone else's blood and she would actually have been more human towards me.
