Jeff wants to know where we stand: Are temp tables our "friend" or our "foe", even while we acknowledge that the likely answer is "it depends". My stance is that temp tables are a useful tool when properly used, but they're very easy to misuse to the point of creating problems.

What inspired me is that I've really come to appreciate that there's different pieces of information collected with the execution plan itself depending on where I get the plan from. Understanding what's collected, where, and why can help make a difference when trying to troubleshoot and performance tune.

This is not limited to SQL! You could blog about incremental refresh in Power BI, hashing values in PySpark, high watermark patterns in Fabric pipelines, or any other change detection technique. I'd love to see the #PowerBI and #MicrosoftFabric community join in! Publish your post on May 12!
