I can barely be assed to criticise gas extraction at the modest Jackdaw field in the North Sea. It's tragic that the current administration listened to the wonderful, caring people from the fossil fuel industry. It won't make any difference to any of us, but £££ KERCHING for Shell and others

Interesting difference between Bluesky & Threads this morning. My Bluesky feed is livable cities, cycling, renewable energy, reports about racist reform tossers etc. Threads is about 80% Tesla Roadster reports with a bit of renewable energy in Africa and President Obama speaking in Manchester

For some spooky reason on the day Tesla finally launched the Tesla Roadster (due 2029 - $250,000 deposit) I'm having a little drive in the Renault Twingo (due now, £17,000). No. Wait. I'm not saying the Roadster isn't an amazing machine, it is, and the engineers behind are world class, they are.

I’m making a prediction here. There will be some news about the new Tesla Roadster appearing soon. I have no inside information. However I will just be discussing it on The Times radio breakfast show tomorrow morning.

40% of *everything being shipped everywhere on Earth* is fossil fuels Just an absolute laughing-stock clown-show of an energy source. This is laughably absurd, why do we treat this like it's normal and good Fossil fuels are a satirical fuel www.irena.org/-/media/File...

Sometimes you meet someone one time and you never forget them. I had that privilege in 2014. R J Mitte was such a delightful young man with a beautiful spirit. Very sad news about his passing.

It's quite simple, when the weather is like this, it just means we burn way less expensive, imported gas to keep the lights on. One day it will also mean our electricity is MUCH cheaper #breakthelink

I could not believe whay I saw. This film is truly extraordinary. No AI, okay, my voice is in it for about 15 seconds but don’t let that put you off. If you get a chance to see it, grab it with both hands.

I just thought I'd say hi as I'm passing. For someone who is four 4 years beyond current retirement age, and I'm not complaining, but I have never, in 70 years, been this busy. I like it, but even among all the frantic activity, I go out and look at the sky. It's worth doing if you can.

Why is it possible to pay around 14p per kWh for electricity from a very rapid charger in France when we pay between 60 to 95p in the UK? Asking for a friend

French supermarket E.Leclerc has lowered the price of its EV charging network to just 0.17 €/kWh. This is lower than some residential electricity prices, especially when you consider the cost of a home charging point. Unfortunately not (yet?) available adhoc / in roaming. www.charge-elec.leclerc

Just been sent a total pro fossil fuel non story from the ABC in Australia. Saying you should keep your car fuelled during bush fire season so you can get away. Fair enough. Then there's a picture of a hybrid petrol car with some fire damage . . from a bush fire . . which they describe as 'an EV'

I’m currently driving the BYD Seal 6 touring DMI. It’s a plug in hybrid which, I’ve discovered can only charge at 7 kW. However when I started this trip, it had 720 miles range. But I’ve had to buy petrol for the first time in 12 years. #shock. On Everything Electric soon.

Anyone who remembers the original Audi A2 might be interested in an episode of Everything Electric cars arriving on the old YouTube at 11am, today. This is the old one. I say nothing more. #embargo

A total of 28,063 electric cars were newly registered in the UK in August. This represents an increase of 27.7 per cent compared with the same month last year and means that BEVs accounted for 29.8 per cent of all new passenger car registrations last month. (Courtessy of SMMT)
