I've checked 14 times that the article is indeed from the real @nytimes. Grace & Jo Have Never Solved a Murder is featured today as one of the four best new mysteries of October, next to @louisepennyauthor.bsky.social. Speechless but screaming. Grateful.

Hit the 40k mark of the book 3 draft 0!

They’re not detectives. They’re just two millennials with a murder to solve 🔎 Happy #bookbirthday to GRACE AND JO HAVE NEVER SOLVED A MURDER by @jessmeywrites.bsky.social! 🎉 "[A]ffable...Mey proves her chops on her first try." —Publishers Weekly awfulagent.com/ebooks/grace...

My phone wouldn't let me log in to Bluesky all day but... May the hijinks begin. 🙌 GRACE & JO HAVE NEVER SOLVED A MURDER is out now, wherever books are sold.

I have a fully formed plot, more than 25,000 words, and a headache.

My publisher is giving away FIVE copies of my debut cozy mystery on Goodreads! www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...

My modern cozy mystery comes out in SIX days. It's got pop culture references, a sports mascot mishap, and charcuterie. Charlaine Harris and Publishers Weekly liked it. Here are some nice things people have said about it recently. www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/827351...

A GRACE & JO HAVE NEVER SOLVED A MURDER audiobook shout-out from Parade this morning! I'm so grateful for all of Spotify and Stacy Gonzalez's hard work! parade.com/books/spotif...

It’s the month I become a traditionally published author! The wait was slow and brutal, but now we’re 13 days away from Grace & Jo Have Never Solved a Murder being on shelves and in the hands of readers. www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/827351...

Perfect comedic timing. Perfect horror timing. I've said, "He was bit by an animal and then became that animal," in my head dozens of times today. #WidowsBay

You can say anything you want on the internet!

And we can't forget this PW review of GRACE AND JO HAVE NEVER SOLVED A MURDER by @jessmeywrites.bsky.social, publishing on 10/13/26! 🔎 "[R]eaders will be rewarded with a satisfying conclusion. Mey proves her chops on her first try."

I’m a month out from my debut novel hitting shelves, and I’m over-the-moon excited and grateful… but I’m also stressed, disappointed, frustrated, and feeling stuck. Let’s normalize accepting that achieving your dreams has some less-than-dreamy moments. substack.com/home/post/p-...

My latest newsletter just went out! jessmeywrites.substack.com/p/debut-doss...

Hey, #writingcommunity, if you’re looking for a sign to bedazzle your book, this is it.

People wonder why writers are so anxious when two of the most common comments about going on submission are “nos are fast, yessss are slow,” and, “if it’s going to sell, it’ll probably sell in the first three months”

Kinda chic to be a writer. 💅🏻

Surprise!!! I get to write about werewolves now too!!! I so firmly believe in this book, and I'm SO thrilled to have found a home with Orange Blossom! I hope you're all ready to fall in love with a chronically ill werewolf, her nerdy best friend, and the shenanigans they get up to along the way!

I do not need to watch reality television because every day there is a new bombshell in the villa/publishing AI scandal.

A watched pot never boils. But just in case…

How people sound when they say they don’t have the money to pay an artist or write their own book: “I don’t have the budget for Louboutins or the time to save the money, so I’ll just steal someone else’s!” It’s not meant for you (for the time being or maybe not at all), and that’s ok.

Today on Substack, I wrote about the ethics and economics behind choosing whether to purchase a book new, buy secondhand, or get it from the library. (Spoiler alert, my answer as a debut author was no.) open.substack.com/pub/jessmeyw...

I almost signed an email "Jedd."

Today was one of those low low and high high days, but I'm excited to say that the highest high was a positive Publishers Weekly Review! www.publishersweekly.com/9781917415309

We can’t go outside in Pittsburgh because of the smoke from the Canadian wildfires (stay safe Canada!) but at least my book looks pretty in the apocalyptic lighting.

I cannot even imagine what it is like trying to breathe in Canada today when it is this difficult in Pittsburgh. 😭

Taking photos of my book baby as I did with my real babies. GRACE & JO HAVE NEVER SOLVED THE MURDER's official birthday is October 13, 2026! In lieu of a registry, I have a pre-order link. 😘 #booksky

Be like my daughter. Don’t save the dress for a special occasion. Wear that dress to happy hour at Primanti’s.

Turned in copy edits on my latest book this week so I should probably remind people I have a book coming out later this year. It’s called ETERNITY’S TOMB and it answers the question we’ve all asked ourselves: what if we were robbing a space tomb heading for a black hole?! dmoren.com/writing/eter...

Love modern cozy mysteries like FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT? You might enjoy my debut novel, GRACE & JO HAVE NEVER SOLVED A MURDER. This reader did! #booksky

Me leaving the marketing and social media industry saying I never wanted to do it again, but then becoming an author.

GRACE & JO HAVE NEVER SOLVED A MURDER is now fully request-able on NetGalley! Link is in my bio and my team will be approving tons of requests for the next few hours!

My daughter just screamed, “YOU’RE A FREAK!” to my son and then, “MOM, WHAT IS A FREAK??” to me.

Imagine all of the great stories that wouldn’t exist if people had just gone to therapy

If you think my TBR is big, wait til you see how many manuscripts I've started.

Don’t cry over spilled milk but definitely cry because you apparently didn’t save your document and lost 3k words to a heat wave outage… or however the saying goes. 😭

Oh my gosh. SO many people were reading this book at the pool today. It must be so good. 👀

Last year I was a stay-at-home mom who wrote a book, got an agent, and sold my debut. After a year of wishing for things to work out, that debut is now available to “wish” for on NetGalley! Early Netgalley reviews are a huge help to new authors, so make a wish! ✨ www.netgalley.com/catalog/book...

A good way to remind yourself that you can't please everyone as an #author is to read 1-star reviews from books you rated 5 stars.

I love the early stages of drafting a new novel because you're looking at a line and paragraph level and don't realize the plot doesn't make sense yet. #author

Thought I came up with the perfect name for my WIP, asked my husband if he liked it, and he pulled up the text where he suggested it to me a month ago. 😂

My cozy mystery is available to “wish” for on NetGalley and to request if you’re a bookseller or librarian! 🙌 (Other users will be able to request in July!) www.netgalley.com/catalog/book... #booksky

Flying home from Disney World and what I really need are some vegetables and to sit for a week or so.

I just typed “Kindgom” and, once again, AI could never.
