The series finale in grimdark eldritch campaign of course had to end with the party facing a god. In this case, my character Nerissa disagreed with her own patron on what was best for the world. It was the most intense D&D I've ever done, and I'm glad to have been party of this story.

In this arc, the group dove deeper into the City Below to confront Drago Koshevek, the first vampire, and his ally Coltan, apparently a vessel fit the god of death. But they were interrupted by the Archdemon of Lies, Skade.

Skade had conjured up constructed clones of the party, each subtly different than the original, but most importantly they didn't talk back to him. The fight was short but very exciting.

Continuing from last time, the party fought a spectral moon using their minds to summon ghostly creations. The finishing blow happened when Cherchael bound it with thorny tentacles and Brucey aimed a giant penguin drill at it. We also kept forgetting Ramiel's sister Shamshel was there.

They also completed two more Path trials. Ramiel, the Hexblade Warlock, completed the Path of the Cursed. Ziku, the Mastermind Rogue, completed the Path of the Revolutionary.

D&D players familiar with this module may be wondering where this was in the original source book, but to be transparent, I have rewritten the final dungeon from the ground up. I wanted to make the final set of challenges more personal to each player character.

Cherchael, the Stars Druid, completed the Path of the Omen. Noelle, the Bladesinger Wizard, completed the Path of the Paragon. Aerith, the Open Hand Monk, completed the Path of the Tenacious. Quirk, the Beast Barbarian, completed the Path of the Monster.

In this chapter, the party finally broke into the Netherdeep, a demiplane of deep water and corrupted creatures made from the anguish of the demigod Alyxian. In order to meet Alyxian in the heart of the Netherdeep, each party member must face a trial asking them to meet a trauma they share with him.
