I have been ruminating on how, for me, Giger is an antidote to Lovecraft in the way the two have filtered into pop culture. I'm weary of "Lovecraftian" and drawn to "Gigeresque" because while both dwell in a kind of fear, one is fear and hate, the other is fear and beauty.
