Posting this again (Art by @aerrona.bsky.social please go comm them!!) because my boy is so pretty and I want all of you to look at him. Character is Elareth Valenwyld, from my upcoming novel currently titled "Heavy is the Head". Ask me questions!

Was reminded of an old drinking song I used to listen to a lot (Cruiscin Lan by the Clancy Brothers--I was, somehow, raised on them in California USA) and I found myself wistful for the old Celtic Moods and Pure Moods CDs. Then I remembered I CAN STILL LISTEN TO THEM. Sometimes I love the internet.

I did the worldbuilding 🫡 now I'm a bit behind on word count for my deadline goal, but it should be smoother sailing for a bit here.

IT'S ALIVEEEEE!!!! wrong gothic horror but you get it! www.kickstarter.com/projects/top...

Every time I see owls I miss the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series. Time for a reread, perhaps.

I should show y'all my Extensive Sticker Gallery

Do you know about my delusional goal to get 50 reviews for Shiver Me by the time the book comes out? Will YOU be the next to honestly rate and review? It’s a huge help to an indie author like me! Here’s a taste of the reviews we have so far:

okay I know I'm skeeting (sorry witchsky) a lot rn, but I noticed something about FFXIV that I really like: There's A LOT of foreshadowing about major players in the storyline. Characters and their factions and their influence show up WELL before they do, and that's really a nice touch.

Also I feel ridiculous--I was JUST saying to a friend how spies are basically an inevitability forever and have been SINCE forever, and yet my book has no spies. What am I even doing here

Did you know on witchsky when you are the 67th person to like a post, there's confetti and the words "six seven" at the bottom left corner? Now you know (also witchsky is very cool)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=72KN... Watching this today and I have some uh. Worldbuilding to do.

I still think this trailer sucks and I made it in thirty minutes, but people seem to like it, so I should share it more. Of course, I think everything I make sucks.

Part two of the alt-text is in the replies

I wish to make my case on why you should support me by getting a copy of this chapter by sharing my favorite 7 pages from it. [Non sequential] The feedback ive gotten so far have been positive! 🐍 Proceeds go towards supporting me through my medical crisis. Thanks! Lettering by @rayday.bsky.social

nothing humbles my already questionable time estimation skills faster than graphic design

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s ‘sleight of hand’ -It’s ‘bated breath’ -It’s ‘lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s ‘brass tacks’ -It’s ‘free rein’ -It’s ‘toe the line'

Okay so this is bad, but I haven't actually named my antagonists yet, and actually can't reveal who they are. Long story short, the most I'd have to put up with is unpleasant conversation, but it would be very unpleasant.

I've now emailed @ellipsus.com to try to get to the bottom of this reformatting issue. Hopefully I can find a solution ( @makingmarz.bsky.social I'll let you know how it goes)

Me making up telenovelas about my OC's in my head before I fall asleep

Working on an intro for a new boss

I do things sometimes. Commission for a back patch.

Nothing to really promo but my account here, which is where I'll be posting writing updates and other snippets!

Bit long visually, but immediately proving Liam is an angst machine.

My main character, Liam, thinks he's immune to angst (he's not), but his love interest Elareth is a bleeding heart, and that isn't a good trait in his line of work, leading to lots of angst (internal and external).

Angst is my bread and butter 😘🤌

Hi, I'm Jasper! I've been writing fantasy since grade school (no really), and I hope for my first finished project other than fanfiction to be an urban fantasy novel I'm currently titling "Heavy is the Head"! If you like queer romance and traditional fairy stories, it might be your thing!

@ellipsus.com I looked at the "document defaults" tab and I get that it's an Ellipsus Plus thing, but does that mean every new chapter I write will reset to the Ellipsus defaults? Cuz that's not a great feature if it's intentional.

This is one of my favorite quotes from all of the Discworld series, btw. Just something to remember as I talk about "Heavy is the Head"...

We thought it would be a good time to remind everyone to opt their audiobooks into Kobo Plus 👀 We’ll never ask you for exclusivity AND you get paid for re-reads (or re-listens!)

Me not remembering I commented on this 4 months ago: ah yes, a new post from doodlemancy! I have several OCs that fit this description and it's hilariously worded! The date on the post:

youtu.be/ypOUBEzwwrU This is such a good video. The one before it is great and please watch it as well, but this really has changed my perspective.

Research by day, writing by night. I've missed this. 🥹 Recently I saw a post going around about what people would have been doing if they'd pursued their childhood dream. I had a lot, but primary among them was to be an author. I used to spend HOURS every day on Wikipedia. This really takes me back.

How dare you

Not spicy (YET) but oh boyyyyyyyyyy

I will never forgive this man...'s ghostwriters for how Maximum Ride continued past book 3. I loved that trilogy. The other books just don't exist for me. Romantasy? He couldn't even make Max and Fang kiss :(

Ngl, Liam doesn't trust people enough to be more than a 3 (but he used to! it's how he and Elareth met.). He's not mean, and while at work he's genuinely friendly, it's just that he has a tendency to see scams everywhere. Elareth is a 10. He doesn't want to see anyone hurt the way he was.

Pirate romance has been some of my fave throughout my life, and Shiver Me is an excellent example. I can't wait for what's next!! What's funny tho is I actually have thalassophobia really bad, so going out on the ocean irl is not my idea of a great time. Anyway, read Shiver Me!
