Trump: "Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP"

People need to go to prison. There have to be penalties--real ones, not some minor fines or administrative judgements--for wrecking the State and turning the US into a personalist regime. The punishment need to be draconian; Trump and his enablers need to be made examples of.

yahoo.comTrump’s DOJ told a judge how to rule. Then it pulled her from court.THE JUDGE HAD JUST CALLED COURT TO ORDER on that winter morning, and already, a dozen attorneys waited on her TV screen, each with an urgent request. Their clients, all locked up and facing deportatio...

X: But it wasn't OUR fault, really! Me: *skeptical raised eyebrow* X: *explanation which makes it clear it was solely X's fault* Me: So when you said "it wasn't our fault" collectively you mean to say it was your fault, specifically? X: Uh... well... yeah, pretty much. Me:

People keep pointing out the racism here, and that makes sense given the context, but don't think for a minute that it's ONLY racism. These people would, if given the chance, undo citizenship based on sexuality, political ideology, party identification--you name it.

Rally speaker: "Mike Rogers is an American. Abdul has a birth certificate. The birth certificate says he's a citizen of America. You know what? a birth certificate doesn't make you an American."

Matty, I'm afraid people have already decided you're wrong, so according to you I think that means you just nod and agree since everyone's mind is made up already. I know this is an issue that's probably important to you, but values aren't our concern right now--you gotta win first!

On which level? Maybe we can do an exchange in the NYT or something rather than this kind of ambush journalism.

Gay rights. Televisions. Food flavor. Ethnic food options. Bourbon. Car safety. Airplane safety. Trauma medicine. Weather modeling. Computers.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: Your ambassador to Turkey just said that 'absolutely, there could a strike on Iran this weekend.' Have you gone back on holding off until after the midterms? TRUMP: If that's the case, I don't know anything about it

Clippy may be dead, but his spirit lives on in MS Word: "It looks like you're trying to type a document with some sort of formatting, would you like totally and repeatedly fuck it up for you?"

Put bluntly: this is not good.

There's a land that's fair and bright Where the handouts grow on bushes And you sleep out every night Where the boxcars all are empty And the sun shines every day On the birds and the bees And the cigarette trees The lemonade springs Where the bluebird sings, The White House says

During DADT my supply NCO had a spat with their same-sex spouse who sent in their state marriage license in an attempt to get the NCO kicked out. I reasoned that if the Army said gay marriage didn't exist, no state document could prove it did. So there was no evidence, and since I couldn't ask...

Every day this website exposes me to someone I think must be the stupidest person alive--and then the next day, along comes someone *even stupider* than the previous day's idiot. It's astonishing, really.

"Stealing from ME" is quite the tell.

Trump on Corey Lewandowski possibly being under investigation: "If view it as if people aren't honest, they're stealing from me ... I guess I could stop anything. I have no idea what he did."

The flaw in this daft argument is that "no more 'evil' being added" is not a choice. The choice is 80 or 20, to use your terms. If not one, then it's the other. You are selecting an option that does not exist.

One of my favorite things is that Hegseth kept on saying "decimated" without seeming to realize that a literal decimation of Iranian capability would mean... 10% losses.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Rick Scott: "I'm sure it's gonna take a lot more bombing and destroying of the Iranian military force" (So much for their military being decimated I guess!)

Whenever I read a series of finance acronyms, concepts, and numbers of which I have no understanding, my brain just goes here:

Police Chief JD Vance at a bank robbery: Sometimes we find the hostages being a little bit more intransigent. Sometimes we find the hostage-takers are a little more intransigent. But that's the job of diplomacy, to engage in these things and try to solve problems!

🇺🇸🇺🇦‼️ JD Vance on Ukraine: Sometimes we find the Ukrainians are being a little bit more intransigent. Sometimes we find the Russians are being a little bit more intransigent. But that's the job of diplomacy, is to engage in these things and try to solve problems.

This only increases the chances he does something else dumb in Iran, to give him a war to point to as a reason why he's too busy.

Turns out, there's a reason why evangelicals call themselves American Christians and not Christian Americans.

This is a dangerous, vicious cycle, because the only recourse to Trump destroying norms by firing and screwing with the federal workforce is so the same to the people he put in, because you can't leave his people in there--they can't be trusted and their qualifications are suspect at best.

Going to be the same way at the FBI. Trump put an unqualified man in the role. A Dem president obviously can't leave Patel there, but does this mean every president picks "his" own FBI director from here on out? Seems bad, but I don't know a way around it except hoping for GOP sanity, which...

One of the ways LLMs have made my life worse is that I used to look forward to emails with one of my titles as the subject, because I do occasionally get mail from readers! Now, though? Every week a new LLM emails me pretending to have read and loved my book to try to scam me into something.

💥🛩️🛩️The second Russian aircraft lost today also appears to have been a Su-30SM, like the one that crashed in Kaliningrad. This time, however, the crew did not survive. The location and circumstances remain unknown.
